I went to Pittsburgh! IT WENT BADLY.

... not... not Pittsburgh, itself. Just the going there part. Pittsburgh was fine. Hopefully next time will go better! Hopefully there is a next time.

HARROWING! )

But now I have a cold, which I am 100% certain I picked up in the airport on Saturday, and also my back is, I don't know, failing or something. I woke up this morning in so much pain! D:

But I had an early-ish shift, and I had to go to my therapy appointment, anyway, but then I got to work and was totally useless and in pain and ended up just sitting in a corner and crying at one point, so they sent me home after a whopping hour and a half.

AND HERE IN BED I HAVE REMAINED (well, aside from when I've been trying to do stretches on the floor). Man, I hope I feel better tomorrow.

But for now here is this entry, which I figured I should get up before I go outta town again on Friday.

... fortunately, we're driving, not flying.

NOW IF ONLY I GET TO COME HOME AGAIN TO MY FLUFFY LITTLE CATFACE? (Remember, it was during my trip to New York last year to visit my brother that "the worst thing ever" tagged events happened.) uuugh. SAZY, DON'T GO. :( :( :(
I've attended too many voice actor panels! Mom was listening to Terry Gross on the radio, and she has some voice / actor on, and I already knew all the answers to the questions she was asking. GET TO THE HIJINKS! (and then she did, and all was good)

Anyway, it's cold today. And it was apparently cold yesterday, but I wouldn't know, because I somehow spent the entire day asleep, because fifteen hours (UNTIL 5 PM) is a perfectly reasonable amount of time to be unconscious. And then being tired about eight hours later? Also normal. I am tired today, too. What the hell is wrong with me this time? Maybe I am just trying to hibernate through the season.

So, anyway, normally with sub-zero temperatures we'd have a fire going, buuut...

So, here's the Christmas entry )

AND THAT WAS THE CHRISTMAS POST!

Since then, I have not done much other than work and sleep for-freaking-ever. And play a little on my shiny PS3. FFXIV starts billing tomorrow, but I remembered to set everything up, there.

The Doctor Who Christmas special was kind of disappointing, I have not had a chance to watch Top Gear (FOR SHAME, JECCA), and Sherlock was goddamn amazing except when it wasn't (which was, at least, the minority of the time, and which I am working on mostly undoing by deciding to reinterpret things).

Also this afternoon my parents and brother tried to get me tipsy, but it didn't quite work because wine is awful.

(My brother is taking a wine class at school, and for his homework he had to do a little wine-tasting thing, so we were all sitting around sipping wine for like an hour. I didn't finish any of my partial glasses, but I still ended up consuming more than I had in all the rest of my life. Unpleasant!)
hahahaha holy shit our chimney was just on fire

We're fine! My parents put the titanium in there for a reason. Nothing exploded. It's going out. Slowly.

And now I'm sitting watch to keep an ear and eye on the fireplace (hey, saves me from helping in the kitchen) (though I'd rather have a nice, warm fire). (Chimney fires are really, really loud.)

So, uh, wow. That was exciting.

(IT IS STILL CRACKLING AUGH)

...Anyway, uh, here's Megatron singing a Christmas carol. Yay!

Squeenix, wtf are you even doing to this poor game? I mean, good on them for admitting that Eorzea needs serious, serious work (they really released it entirely too early), and I am pleasantly surprised they are going so far as to continue to not charge people for it, but... come on, this is hilarious.

I went and saw Megamind earlier this week. It was so, so much better than I thought it was going to be! (It was more of a process of elimination than any of us wanting to see it. The planning went -> We're bored, so let's do something -> ooh, movie! -> what is showing -> those sound stupid -> Megamind it is!) So I was just like, oh, whee, another supervillain redemption-whatever movie, but then it was amazing and I loved it, and also the characters were great (and! I really liked how they handled the girl / designated damsel in distress, but explaining why is, you know, full of spoilers, so not now). Highly recommend seeing it, if you get a chance!

AND NOW WORK AGGRAVATION I was bothered by a rude old man at work and it was annoying. And then he ran crying to management before I could offer to figure something out for him. He wanted icing put on some doughnuts, which, uh. I've never seen icing on the type he wanting it put on, so after figuring out what it was he even wanted - BE CLEAR DAMN IT - I started to explain to him that I'd never heard of such a thing, and that while I in no way did not believe that he'd had it done before (he kept insisting that THEY DO IT FOR HIM ALL THE TIIIIME because, yeah, no one who says that is ever lying...), I couldn't just run off and do it, and I didn't even get that far, much less get into my offering to track down a manager and ask them about it. OH NO, WE NEED TO GO FILE A COMPLAINT. I think the person he dragged over understood that I wasn't trying to make a fuss, but, still. Unamused. And going to talk to my department manager tomorrow, just in case.

... huh. I've just gone through my list of tags (trying to remember how I phrased one, and I don't remember all of these. Are people actually creating/adding tags to some entries, or am I just loosing my mind?

Here are some things from the weekend I wanted to mention but forgot, in my sleep-deprived haze:

Yes, more on this. )

Anyway, my new field placement started today! AT 8:30 AND BY THE WAY I HAD TO DRIVE FORTY MINUTES TO GET THERE so I had to crawl out of bed at 7 am and I'm still recovering from the flight home, but I made it. IT IS SO AWESOME.

We went out on a boat and drove around and I got to do stuff already! No standing around stupidly this time, they put me right to work putting things in the lake and taking them back out, and dropping them in the lake, and hauling them back out, and tossing things in the lake and heaving them out again and THROWING THEM IN THE LAKE AND THEN PULLING THEM UP AND TAKING THE SAMPLE AND we saw some great blue herons in their nests at the top of some dead trees, and a bunch of fish clearly not adapting well to living in the lake-proper instead of the hatchery they must have been from, and also there were spiders all over the boat augh, and oh man, I am so excited and grateful, but I am seriously going to have blisters the size of China growing on my hands in a week's time ow.

I GO BACK AT 9:30 TOMORROW. Not nearly as far, though. I had to go to Waterbury to do some paperwork and stuff, but they'll be picking me up from a much closer location from now on.

SOEXCITED. (Too excited for the space key, evidently.)

And, while we're on the subject, SQUEENIX I HATE YOU.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

THE ONLY GOOD THING HERE IS THAT I DIDN'T SEE ANY TARUTARU IN THE TRAILER AND I COULD LIVE WITH NO TARUTARU BUT AAGERHJKTLGEMNH

(And that's all beyond that they're promoting XIV before XIII is out...)
...

I think the computer is clean.

If I never have to do that again... It's enough to make one want to swear off the internet.

I can't believe I made the Spyware wallpaper go away. And the pop-ups have stopped. And I took the liberty of installing Firefox on his laptop while I was there.

I think I might go to bed now. I deserve a long nap.

Noobism threads always make me laugh. :D

Sometimes I relate to them, but mostly I'm glad I managed to avoid some of the really stupid mistakes (or, er, it could be that I've still not realized some of my own? I suppose that is entirely possible).

Also, best poll ever. why does /ninja always win?

ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THIS ENTRY? OMG! MY INTERNET IS STARTING TO FULLY WORK AGAIN! LOOK, I CAN ACCESS ALLAKHAZAM!

Fanfiction.net is back, too.

It still cuts me out occasionally, but it's generally much rarer (which is to say, it is not every thirty seconds).

I was talking to someone last night and it occurred to me, the cut out thing started about the time I started the SH/TF crossover, and it went away completely for the day or so that I spent writing the beginning and the end (that is, the time spent outside of or leaving the town), and now that I've almost entirely finished, it is fading away all together.

Freaky coincidence?

Well, I hope so, anyway.
True to my word, I watched Top Gear clips on YouTube for much of the afternoon (one of them was the race from Italy to the restaurant in London. I love that one. I tried to inflict it on my brother, but I don't think he watched it. What a spoilsport). I think I successfully banished Gene, but now I am tired and must go to bed.

Aside from that, my day was mostly uneventful. ... Well, actually, ...no, I guess it wasn't. I came downstairs to find my mother shouting over the radio to mock whatever baseball team it was that lost a game last night (okay, "AND ATE IT!" was pretty unexpected and funny to suddenly hear that from her).

Besides that, I'm going through MORE BOXES of stuff, and one of them held binders full of things from about 1999 to 2004. All from school, so notes and random doodles and such.

The contents made me happy! )

... So you'd think, all that considered, that today would have been a good day, yes? No. Despite all of this, I really feel a bit awful today.

In which Jecca is a whiny brat with emotional problems. )

BUT OKAY! We are done with that. Moving on with life!

Probably about time, anyway.

Tomorrow I will work on "GT" more. Really need to get going on that, since I've made absolutely no progress the last few days.

Edit:
More things that make Jecca happy: this YouTube video. She grins every time she ends up following a link to this video, because the text in the video cracks her up every time. And, of course, the sound-clip from the original cartoon at the very end will never not be hilarious. ("I lactate geometry"! XD)
The gaming lounge downtown closed! SORROW! More sorrow from downtown, but significantly less so, the Oasis Diner is changing hands. Didn't go there much at all, anyway, but it's still too bad. They're going to completely change it.

Unrelated, my wrist decided it hasn't proven how much it hates me in a while, so now I am stuck in the giant brace-of-no-articulation until the pain (which prompts an odd desire to cut my arm off) passes. (It's really not that huge, but I hate wearing the thing.) I HAVE NO WRIST ON MY RIGHT ARM. It is driving me insane. FLEX, you useless joint! *waggles fingers in futility* Neck is acting up, too, though that's an easy fix (but hearing and feeling my neck crack-pop in like ten places is never not going to be a bit worrying). At least my knees are behaving.

Also unrelated, obtained deluxe Movie Arcee! I'm not sure if they restock Sundays or Mondays, but by the time I have been getting there on Wednesdays, they only have, like... Payload or Dreadwing or somesuch other character that I do not want. She has a functioning kickstand! It is awesome or possibly I am just entirely too easily entertained. (Now if only Concept Camaro Bumblebee would just stop being sold out everywhere...)

Plus, new Heroes. (Yeah, yeah, that started last week. Shush.) (Also, there is no way this 'no longer entirely subtextual' subtext is unintentional.) (ALSO, Claire, ew, and didn't that hurt? JEEZ.)

...Finally, Mom made pumpkin cheesecake. Life is good.
...as soon as I stop finding them. Man, we have got too many old computers around here.

This is, uh... bit of a joke between a friend and I, really. In short, cactuars are evil (that is a strange story. I might tell it sometime when I am bored) and pairing names sound funnier than they should sometimes.

Apocalyptic Fresh! It's like an Infomercial or something. )

I'd apologize for this, but I'm not sorry. :P

...I swear I just heard "Wheelie, don't you lose my number" (as opposed to the actual lyrics, "Billy"). ... Possibly it is time to go to bed, then. o_O;

NaNo!

... Goodbye, remaining sanity! Please remember to come back in December.

I am not ready for this. @__@

Fortunately for everyone else, most everything else related to this mess I keep getting myself into will be at least under Friends lock.

...But first I'm going to write that three page mythology report that I'm fairly certain is due tomorrow. Also, it is nice to be able to use the computer again. (Addiction? What addiction?)

LJ WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THE YEAR IS INVALID. IT IS STILL 2006 RIGHT? UPDATE, YOU MISERABLE SCRAP HEAP.

I love how it actually works after I add the caps-rage. Now I don't want to remove it, for fear of LJ breaking again.

NaNoWriMo starts in eight days. Aaaaagh! Aaaaaaaaaaaaa - oh, hey, Titanium Scourge is out? Perfect! I just picked up a pay check today!

Toy store even carries Titaniums (unlike Classics and Alternators and... well, most everything), so maybe I'll stop by after classes tomorrow and see if they've gotten him in yet. I wonder if there are plans to make the other two Unicronians. (Is that even a word?) (( Edit: Didn't see him today. :\ ))

Back to NaNo, though. Probably going with the Final Fantasy XI bit. I've obtained permission from most everyone who has a character (or two) that I'll need to use. Just need to get in contact with Crytuf and Shadowlotus' player. And Nehima / Nomii's, though I'm quite sure she won't care, as I use her characters all the time. Better to avoid potential problems in the first place, though. Of course, getting in touch with her is going to be a problem. She didn't give me her dorm phone number or address, she never checks her email, and she doesn't use instant messaging programs. Annoying.

Dear Primus, eight days? Ugh. I am so, so slagged.
I just got the email notification from NaNoWriMo that it's time to register myself again.

How is it almost November? *eep* I have no idea what I'm going to try and write about this year.

I can't remember if you're "allowed" to write in other universes. I could probably pound out 50k+ words for a story based in the XI-verse, despite having no story ideas at the moment. Plus it has the benefit that, while having locations and basics of a way of a world and way of life established, the characters are not entirely pre-established. I have to know my three characters in and out, and it's rather easy to throw in new characters. I also have permission to continue using my friends' characters (though that gets into the pre-established characters thing).

I could also try doing something with Jade and her little girlfriend "stalker-pest" (ahah, Jade, you are fooling no one).

Hm. I need to start thinking about this if I want to have any sort of a plan of attack by the end of the month.

Edit:
I uploaded a few more Ecco Haiku on my FF.net account. I don't really know why I keep playing those games.
