Was talking to my brother last night, he was telling me about his current Knights of the Old Republic 2 files. He's playing through twice, side by side, one good and one evil file.
Today: "my evil kotor2 file got corrupted"
Well, naturally.

Reason I have the best microcomputer applications class in the history of ever: in this week's class, we elected Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as president and vice. (The professor was showing us one of the problems with computer-based voting! We had two elections - each "ballot" was the same, but in the results for the second tally, he wrote a program to miscount votes.)
Awesome award. ...Boom.
(Why does "awesome" prompt a boom? Very simple reason, actually. Michael Bay is an explosions lunatic. That article is hilarious.)
ANYWAY. Over at the anonymous meme, someone (I do not know who! Because it is anonymous!) commented that sie wished we had more in common! And I thought about that a bit and it occurred to me, I am not really sure I actually have that much in common with anyone on my friends list!
So I am going to list all of my major fandoms! And maybe why I like them in some cases, and whether or not I actually lurk the fanbase. And then people should feel free to leave comments telling me fandoms they think I should get into! Because I really love getting into new fandoms!
And this an open invitation to everyone! Not whoever left the comment! Because, as I said, it's not as if I'll know, anyway.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic observations. Very short. I haven't played much at all, since it requires a full screen, doesn't let Winamp run in the background, and occasionally messes up my computer's resolution. Also, it crashed my system last time I tried to do anything.
( I'm not even sure these qualify as spoilers. )
It was snowing this morning! It accumulated a bit - not really anything, but the ground had a white dusting over it.
It later warmed into just rain and there is no trace of snow left anymore, and actually, the first snowfall was last Wednesday (the seventh), when it snowed very briefly in the afternoon.
And by first snowfall, I mean, "first time I saw snow this time around."
( I'm not even sure these qualify as spoilers. )

Monday was awful! And it was an awful end of an awful work-week. AWFULNESS ABOUNDS. Thankfully, today is a blessedly work-free day. No work! Finally! A day off! Now I whine about yesterday, but I will put all of that under a cut so it can be avoided easily.

To celebrate my finally having a day off, last night I stole my brother's copy of Knights of the Old Republic, installed it on my laptop, and created a character. In typical fashion, after I'd picked a face and placed some of her stats, she peered out and decided to name herself. My characters always name themselves. It's very bizarre. I don't know when it started, because I have clear memories of struggling to come up with names for some of my earlier Diablo II characters.
Anyway, I was planning on either using Jade (even though Jade's claimed that one, because the face I chose is similar. Skin's too light and eyes are too blue and not green, but still similar), but, no. She wanted Kyra, but apparently there's an actor who spells her name like that and pronounces it "Kira," so I went with "Kaira." She's warming up to it well enough. (The good news is, despite her physical similarities to Jade, Kaira appears to be much nicer. Hooray!)
Though I can't complain too much, really. I'd rather they chose their own identities right from the beginning, rather than just deciding they weren't going to listen to me one day (like Jade, argh), or sneaking up on me. The sneaks usually tweak the spelling of their name (like Zil), or something similar.
And, really, today has already proven The Best Day Ever. I started my laptop up to find a message waiting over YIM telling me to get on FFXI as soon as I could, so I logged in and boggled for a minute over what the heck I was doing in South Gustaberg when I logged out in West Ronfaure (Gustaberg is several zones away) and macro-swapped mySummerfest Sunbreeze Fest outfit for my normal gear (yes, the fact that I macro-swapped is important, because it means I didn't open my inventory). Also hadn't thought much of the fact that I was standing in the spawning area for Leaping Lizzy (a Notorious Monster who drops a really nice pair of boots).
Anyway, finally Aniko told me to just check my equipment, so, uh. Dude.
Dude.
I have been after that miserable hairpin for about as long as I've been playing this game (we're approaching four years now). It has eluded me! For years! The drop rate is horrible, everyone tries to kill the monster it drops off (because everyone wants it) and the non-rare/ex version (meaning it's tradable) sells for more money than I will ever have. I FLAIL.
And also I owe Aniko a piece of my soul.
And now we (she managed to bring people with her!) are camping the aforementioned Leaping Lizzy and I need to stop being distracted.

It will probably be friends-locked because I will probably feel the need to spam images (and perhaps a few video clips, depending on my mood) and I'm not sure how my friends and family feel about me putting them up for every and anyone to see.
We stopped on the other side of the border to poke around (we usually do), and we ended up in a massive Wal*Mart. No Alternators (well, no, of course not), but I encountered a fellow Transformers fan in the toy aisle! (This was a first for me! The only people I know who are Transformers fans are people I have converted.) He pointed me towards a store over some other way and they had a few Alternators (no Ravage or Rumble, no surprise). That they had any was amazing, though seeing another Meister wasn't much of a surprise. But they had three Mirages! That was surprising. Liz bought the Meister and one of the Mirages.
I read books! ( And I talk about them! )
Anyway, I suppose I will need to take the next several days to slowly catch up on whatever happened while I was away from the internet. Wheeha.
Also, I have been unable to consistently speak English for the last three or so days, so if there are random Not English words in here, I am very sorry. I think I caught them all, but augh. Brain.
