SOMETIMES MY FRUSTRATION AT MY INABILITY TO FINISH SCENES MANIFESTS IN BIZARRE WAYS.

[00:25] JeccaAM: raragfds
[00:27] JeccaAM: “Hello,” she says, for lack of anything better. Her voice cracks.
[00:28] JeccaAM: "I see you've finished having screaming fits at everyone to pass by. Should I take this to mean you're getting better or that you're about to keel over dead?"
[00:28] JeccaAM: "um," hotaru replied intelligently.
[00:29] JeccaAM: "I see," the nurse said, nodding, as she made a note on a clipboard. "I'll have them up your medication, then."
[00:30] JeccaAM: Hotaru bit her lip. "um. Do you... see that?" she asked, pointing towards the opposite corner of the room.
[00:30] JeccaAM: "Oh, her?" the nurse asked, not actually looking. "Yes, she's been there for a few days now."
[00:30] JeccaAM: The girl in the corner twitched and started gnawing on her wrist.
[00:31] JeccaAM: "... shouldn't you... stop her?" Hotaru asked, concerned.
[00:31] JeccaAM: "She'll stop in a minute," the nurse replied, shrugging. "Mostly she sits there making faces and trying to form coherent sentences on the paper we provide her."
[00:31] JeccaAM: "... I see," Hotaru said.
[00:32] JeccaAM: "Why can't you just have a normal conversation?" the girl suddenly howled, burying both hands in her hair and rocking back and forth.
[00:33] JeccaAM: "Sorry," Hotaru said, raising a hand as the nurse turned to leave, "but d'you think I could maybe get a different room...?"
[00:33] JeccaAM: "I hate you," the girl snarled.
Allakhazam had a Final Fantasy XI-themed pumpkin carving contest! I did not participate, but some of the entries they received are amazing. Some of them must have taken days to complete! Go look!

This was going to be a longer entry, with me telling of my adventures (or, my brain's derangement) on Thursday when I had nothing but schoolwork to do and no means of actually doing said work (and so did not actually have anything to do at all), but I'm exhausted and I need to wake up early to finish that stupid project, so it'll have to wait. I KNOW, YOU ARE ALL DEVASTATED.

( Oct. 8th, 2008 10:49 pm)
One of the main reasons I so rarely write (and even more rarely actually post) anything featuring any of my casts of original characters / original universes (aside, of course, from the obvious that most people don't find other people's original stuff all that wildly interesting, right) is that none of them can ever make their own stupid minds up and I apparently don't care enough to tell them to shut up, sit down, and deal with that they gave me to work with.

So I keep feeling like canon is contradicting itself (it isn't, exactly), and it's... well, not annoying, I like learning new things about it all, but come on, couldn't you have told me some of this stuff earlier?

.... okay, random, playing FFXI (well, waiting on my HP to get back up) and someone sends me a /tell asking where to find the wyvern egg in the Maze of Shakhrami. (To be fair, I am on Dragoon.) heh. Hope I explained it right. A bit hard to be sure when I'm in a different area and so don't have access to a map of the place...

FREE DAY TOMORROW. I will watch things. It will be awesome.
Nearly 3 AM with ECCE CAESAR OF ALL THINGS rolling around in your head.

LATIN DAY, I HAVEN'T ATTENDED YOU SINCE GRADUATING FOUR YEARS AGO. WHY NOW?

Google has, however, turned up the lyrics. First hit, actually. The second hit is some of the 2003 info. I'm kind of surprised. ... Surely other places have Latin Day and sing Ecce Caesar? Maybe we're just the only ones to put this stuff online.

LYRICS. Whyyyy )

If you are struck by enough madness to sing it, make sure you use hard 'c' and 'g' and pronounce the 'v' as a 'w'... I'll know if you don't. (No, I lie. I probably won't.) (Also, don't worry. You cannot possibly sound as awful as I just did.)

Also, apparently my old school lost this year's Latin Day for the first time in eight years. BUT IT WASN'T TO ESSEX. SO IT'S COOL.

... I miss Latin so much.

Now I'm wide awake. Crud.
In the past two days, I've come up with at least six greatly differing reasons for PlotPoint K-and-a-half to happen. It all leads to (mostly) the same result, but with the surrounding situation completely changed.

And three for another idea, as well as a couple completely new ones.

Some of these take place in the beginning and some take place in the middle, and none of them affect the intended ending by too much, but obviously has an impact on the stor as a whole.

This is the reason I don't post solid parts of things prior to completion.

(For a shining example of Jecca's Inability To Pick One Idea And Stick With It, I point you to the changes to the Decepticon line up for "GT."

A lone ">" indicates only a short consideration, each added "-" represents a longer time.

Seekers > Stunticons ---> Swindle --> Random Assortment? > Stunticons -> Combaticons-> some of the Combaticons, including Swindle ----> Decepticharge -> Never directly address it? > Combaticons -> False Information, there are no Decepticons actually stationed there -> Battle, ie Corvette, Ravage-> Battle, ie Corvette, Ravage and Rumble --> Ravage and Battle Ravage ---> Ravage and Rumble ---> Ravage, changing to or from Battle Ravage at some point, and Rumble -> Ravage and Rumble -> Rumble and Battle Ravage drone -> Ravage+Battle Ravage drone -------> Ravage+Battle Ravage drone and Rumble.

I WENT FROM JETS TO CASSETTES. Admittedly, it took me how long to write? And some of those choices - once I'd decided to just toss G1 completely and go AU-Alternators Universe - were based strictly on, "but they do/n't have an Alternators toy..." The final call was a last minute change to put Rumble back into the scenes I'd pulled him out, either by find-and-replace or a complete rewrite.)

... This makes three times in one day that this song has suddenly appeared in my life. Linkshell, a voice post (which wasn't entirely a surprise because I read the comments first, but whatever), and now the radio.

I should have seen the radio one coming. They're going through their playlist alphabetically and they're in the "N" section.
[22:03] JeccaAM: demon brain-infector.
[22:03] (Aniko's AIM name removed!): yay \o_o/

Anyway, I have decided to point this out, because I'm not sure I have before, and it's not something that's apparent, but is something I like doing. Whenever I post a finished piece, I fill in all the fields. Why? It's not actually a post. Why should my mood, music, or location matter?

Actually, the fields are more connected to the story. The location and mood are probably pretty self-explanatory, but maybe not the song. That's generally more what the title of the song evokes. (For example, the lyrics of Everywhere I Go don't necessarily fit with "Prodding," but the title kind of does. Vertigo's lyrics aren't necessarily relevant, being about some club or something, if I remember correctly, but vertigo fits pretty well with Okame's freak out.)

I realise it's entirely possible no one cares about that, but it occurred to me earlier today while trying to brainstorm names for the newest Project that I'd never pointed it out and I felt like sharing.

More on this. )

...eeugh, a spider just ran across the floor.

Edit:
i speeks gud Inglesh:
[01:32] JeccaAM: 20 minutes for chocobo, dunno has fast you solo
[01:32] JeccaAM: how* fast, brain! <.<
[01:32] JeccaAM: stupid coherently!
[01:33] JeccaAM: what?!
[01:33] JeccaAM: type coherently
[01:33] JeccaAM: @__@

Someone can't type tonight...
Jecca, driving to work. It's a beautiful day and there's not a cloud in the solid blue sky. The sun is somewhere overhead, completely out of her field of vision.

She thinks, genuinely confused: But I turned weather effects back on last night.

Then she nearly crashed the car in horror.

In FFXI, when you disable weather, you not only turn off actual weather - rain and snow and wind and the like - you turn off sky effects. No clouds, no stars at night. There's still a sun and a moon, but the sun's often directly overhead and not in your field of vision. I play with weather effects off most of the time, because some effects, especially dust storms, make my computer lag up. Lagging is not something I can afford, as timing is very important to a thief. I turn them on for short periods of time when I know I won't be in places with EXTREME WEATHER or if I'm not planning on partying. Reference shots of sky, 11 am (game time): weather on, weather off.

I cannot believe I actually thought that. I just... I've never done anything like that before, completely misplacing reality in such a manner. I am both mortified and appalled.
So, this worked, but only in the way where you ask someone not to run over your toes and they don't, but only because they then shoot you in the kneecaps, instead.

I think I've successfully kicked three of them back into the abyss. One is still gnawing at my ankles, another is tugging on my arm and making pathetic noises, and I think yet another is scratching at the door, but I don't really notice them because I'm staring at the two word documents I've got open and wondering, through a fog of some sort of numb shock, where, exactly, all of that text came from.

Where are these coming from? What is prompting my Brain to spew out such utterly bizarre and, in some case, slightly disturbing, ideas? More importantly, WHY DOES IT ALWAYS WIN?

ahaha, I have an essay due tomorrow and, for some reason or another, I haven't started it yet. At least it doesn't need to be very long.

My dearest, darling Brain, I have but one very short, very simple message for you:

NO.
jecca_mehlota: (Leap!)
( Dec. 22nd, 2007 11:53 pm)
FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR DEITY HERE. NO.

I DO NOT NEED TO WRITE ANOTHER SILENT HILL CROSSOVER, AND IT MOST CERTAINLY DOESN'T NEED TO BE A DIRECT SEQUEL TO THE FIRST ONE. (NO ONE EVEN READ THAT. YOU'D THINK THIS WOULD DISCOURAGE ME.)

... MIRAGE, I SWEAR, IF YOU DON'T STOP SMIRKING AT ME SO SMUGLY, YOU'RE NEXT. YOU'LL GET STUCK IN THE HELLTOWN WITH SOMEONE NAMED JEREMIAH AND YOU'LL BE CHASED BY DEMON CAT-CARS OR SOMETHING. EVEN THOUGH THAT MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE WHY WOULD YOU BE ANGSTY ABOUT A CLOSE CALL WHEN YOU HAVE A MILLION AND TWO OTHER MORE REASONABLE THINGS TO ANGST ABOUT. SHUT UP AND GET IN THE BOX WITH ALL THE OTHER ALTERNATORS.

please dont it would be so lonely if you were all packed up

mirage why is there a spiderweb on you the spiders should all be dead or asleep or something by now and that wasnt there yesterday

There are Hanukkah songs stuck in my head. This would almost make sense if not for two very minor details:
- Hanukkah is over.
- I am not Jewish.

I have no sanity.
Jecca's day:

Chatlogs with Brain )

So apparently I am writing this now, because Aniko likes my Brain and feeds it Brain-cookies, and the thing was writing itself anyway, and augh.
jecca_mehlota: (Leap!)
( Nov. 17th, 2007 02:47 pm)
I was just blindsided by possibly the most awful Transformers/Silent Hill crossover idea in the history of the world. Literally struck. I physically reeled.

WHY DO I NOT HAVE A DELETE FUNCTION?

At least the Beast Machines one that I'm still kicking around has some degree of reasoning behind it. This one appears to have spawned itself solely in an attempt to thoroughly disturb me. (It has successfully accomplished this task.)

And I am horribly, horribly intrigued by it. Save me.
jecca_mehlota: (You get credit for trying!)
( Oct. 25th, 2007 01:21 am)
Jeremy Clarkson =/= Gene Hunt

SO STOP IT.

No more watching Life on Mars with my mother, apparently. Tomorrow I will stalk Top Gear clips on YouTube until my mind oozes out through my ears.
jecca_mehlota: (You get credit for trying!)
( Sep. 4th, 2007 10:42 pm)
But I may be going to hell. I cannot believe I wrote this.

The Trans-Fan's Prayer

Transformers, who art of HasTak, hallowed be thy canon.
Thy warriors come. Thy battles be fought, on Earth as they are on Cybertron.
Give us this day our daily finds.
And forgive us our fanworks, as we forgive those whose fanworks offend us.
And lead us not into snipe bidding, but deliver us from scalpers.
For thine is the franchise, and the retcon, and the robots, for ever and ever.
Roll out.

YES I AM AWARE THERE ARE PLACES WHERE THE SYLLABLES DON'T MATCH UP.

Those of you not familiar with The Lord's Prayer may want to take a crash course, but I suspect this was inspired by the FFXI-based parody of it I saw on Allakhazam back when I frequented the forums there. Though the Intro Survey I've had sitting filled-out on my desktop for the last two months wherein I answered TRANSFORMERS FOREVER? with AND EVER, AMEN could not have helped.

I keep telling myself I will post that tomorrow. The problem is that I am a total wuss and also that today always has a tomorrow. What will happen, you see, is I will die horribly some day without having ever delurked, and then people will write tragic poems about it and send them around as internet chain mail.

Also, "And forgive us our fanworks, as we forgive those whose fanworks offend us" is like my new favorite line ever. And should perhaps be applied to every member of every fandom everywhere.
Was I thinking too much, or not enough? Either way, the ridiculously high levels of emo that had started to take over have been driven back out. Victory!

I really do hate it when that happens. Someday I will figure out what triggers it, and then I will not have to deal with it anymore. (And someday we will all have flying unicorns. gaaah)

More GT may finally be coming around! (Yes, that appears to have become its working title, if only because I am the worst person in the world at titling things.) There also appears to be a very odd off-shoot of it crawling around in my head. We're blaming Aniko (again) for that branch, but it was my own Brain that decided the two were connected, so, eh. This is quickly turning into a very bizarre alternate universe. ... In which other alternate universe versions of some of the characters in it have cameos. (No, really. I've already written some of it and it is... bizarre.)

Can I chalk this up to sleep deprivation? I've got about six hours for the last three or four days and it has to be affecting me by this point.
jecca_mehlota: (Drifting)
( Jun. 20th, 2007 01:26 am)
We made it safely there and back!

Tomorrow I will upload a giant post that rambles on about it all. It will probably be friends-locked because I will probably feel the need to spam images (and perhaps a few video clips, depending on my mood) and I'm not sure how my friends and family feel about me putting them up for every and anyone to see.

We stopped on the other side of the border to poke around (we usually do), and we ended up in a massive Wal*Mart. No Alternators (well, no, of course not), but I encountered a fellow Transformers fan in the toy aisle! (This was a first for me! The only people I know who are Transformers fans are people I have converted.) He pointed me towards a store over some other way and they had a few Alternators (no Ravage or Rumble, no surprise). That they had any was amazing, though seeing another Meister wasn't much of a surprise. But they had three Mirages! That was surprising. Liz bought the Meister and one of the Mirages.

I read books! And I talk about them! )

Anyway, I suppose I will need to take the next several days to slowly catch up on whatever happened while I was away from the internet. Wheeha.

Also, I have been unable to consistently speak English for the last three or so days, so if there are random Not English words in here, I am very sorry. I think I caught them all, but augh. Brain.
I'm honestly not sure there are words to convey how frustrated I am to find myself wondering whether Alternators Prime or Windcharger would make a better mod to Perceptor.
I inflicted the Silent Hill / Original Character story on someone, and I think it went over fairly well. Possibly I can rest easier now, knowing I have at least shared the insanity, if not disposed of it. Really it'd be boring without it.

Talking. )

Anyway, beta-reading may have been a false alarm, as I've not heard back since sending a reply, but knowing FF.net, it may just be that it hasn't gotten through yet. I HATE YOU TOO, FF.NET! Whatever.

I need something to do. ARG.

And no, you stupid arachnids, going through my room and systematically eradicating every last one of you doesn't count!

*edits IM text and annoys everyone*

Completely off-topic now, but, haha, wow. Is that for real? If Wheeljack were human, he would do things like that, I think... XD Nifty idea and all, but... And those headlights are kind of a giant SHOOT HERE.

Had a storm last night. Snow and ice. Finally! \o.o/

Edit:
And the eternal question. Do I repaint this guy as Comics Ratchet or as Cartoon Ratchet? Oh, dilemma.

The other question is what to do with this Ricochet, now that I've stolen his head and replaced it with Rollbar's. Also, I need to finish buying paint.
...as soon as I stop finding them. Man, we have got too many old computers around here.

This is, uh... bit of a joke between a friend and I, really. In short, cactuars are evil (that is a strange story. I might tell it sometime when I am bored) and pairing names sound funnier than they should sometimes.

Apocalyptic Fresh! It's like an Infomercial or something. )

I'd apologize for this, but I'm not sorry. :P

...I swear I just heard "Wheelie, don't you lose my number" (as opposed to the actual lyrics, "Billy"). ... Possibly it is time to go to bed, then. o_O;
We're going to restore it soon (because, wow, it's a completely new level of "doesn't work"), which means I'm looking through the old files and pulling out the ones I want to keep. This is the one that can't send email (or do much of anything, really. I'm not sure why the internet works on it, to be honest), so, uh, yeah. 'Nother file transfer post, here.

Stumbled upon a thing I wrote a while back (don't remember when) featuring the original character of a friend of mine. (Incidentally, the same one I was up all last night writing about. Creepy coincidences get along well with her. Go away, Silent Hill / OC crossover.) (Jade is my character, but the main person here is not. (un?)Fortunately, Hotaru's creator allows me to do pretty much anything I want with her.)

This girl is craaazy. )

And now I must accompany my mother to her Christmas Eve church-thing. By "now" I mean, in an hour.

Edit:
Hotaru? Look, I'm terribly sorry, but as you no doubt know already, I had a nice chat with your creator tonight, and she fully endorses your jaunting through Silent Hill. What's more, she even rather liked the bits that I showed her from the story.

Guess you're stuck with this.

...And if anyone could explain why I suddenly find myself writing characters into Silent Hill scenarios on Christmas / Eve, I'd... greatly appreciate it, really. I mean, of all days.
.
