WHO WANTS A CARD?

Late posting this, oh god make the calendar slow down what is happeniiiinnnngggg

Anyway you probably know the drill! If you want a card, please leave a comment or drop me a message! Comments are, of course, screened. I wanted to do something cool this year but that's not happening. Maybe you will get a doodle or a lot of words, though?

I am going to try and catch up with DW this weekend! Wish me luck!

PS [personal profile] dragondancer5150 resized this for me and its first use is even relevant to the image! Yay, mail!

Goodreads needs a rating or a marker or something that means, "... yup. This sure was a book I read." For those books you didn't like but which you don't want to hit with the 1-star.

At the end of September, during the neighborhood-wide yard sale, I picked up Franny and Zooey by Salinger because my mom said that people who liked his stuff really liked it, and even though I kind of really didn't like Catcher in the Rye (I guess I didn't actually do disillusioned teenager very well, haha!), it was short, and it was ten cents and what the heck, I guess.

Today I discovered she has never actually read any of JD Salinger's work, haha. I finished the above at lunch and sent her a text saying that, whatever the point of the book was, I sure missed it.

FORTUNATELY I have spent the past week or two finding all sorts of exciting things to load my kindle with.

Also I have to ask my roommate if he's willing to go bust heads down at the post office and UPS for me, because Masterpiece Prowl was supposedly delivered to my PO box two weeks ago. WHERE IS MY ROBOT, WORLD. WHERE.

also darn it I thought I'd uploaded a new icon and I didn't and I wanted to use it here but can't be bothered to go find it right now. Oh, well.

AND I FOUND A SHINY NEW GIF I WANTED TO UPLOAD, TOO, but it's 116x120 and I don't know how to make them smaller and so instead I just cry.

... oh, plus I went to Boston at the beginning of the month, maybe I'll write about that at some point ever.

post script - the things people write on Facebook. I QUOTE: i didn't know that when you posted things "public" that it meant anyone could see it!

As requested (kind of).
Beast Wars )

Edit: Totally up for use. Commenting and crediting both optional. o.o)b
Classes are finished! I still have the concert on Friday, but that's not class. So happy! Drawing wasn't quite a disaster - the teacher helped me pick some new drawings to mat in the whole two minutes I had before class... Think I did okay on the guitar final, mythology was decent enough, though (being the fourth presentation I've had to make in three days) my stress started showing about halfway through my fifteen minute talk.

Photography, though, that was brilliant! Since I made the little flipbook, it was passed around the room instead of hung up, and everyone really liked it! Because, really, giant robots that disguise themselves as cars? They're awesome. Giant robots beating each other up? TOTALLY AWESOME. OH YES.

They made me narrate the story as they all flipped through it. It was fun!

Strange conversations in mythology during break. Why is it that everyone thinks that, because of the lower drinking age in Europe, the teenagers never go out and get drunk? No, really, where does this idea come from?

New icon. I made a bunch of Beast Wars / Beast Machines icons for a friend and had to take this one to use myself. (No, really, he's actually holding the thing upside down.)
I feel I should perhaps justify this icon.

See, the thing is, I rather like Ultra Magnus. He's amusing. (What's that quote? "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Okay, give me the bomb.") Okay, sure, he's not Prime material, but so what?

Besides, let's think about it here a moment. Your leader just died and passed command to you, a whole bunch of other people are dead, something just apparently ate the moons, you're being chased by some crazy guy you've never seen before in your life, and the other shuttle just got blown up/crashed. What do you have time to do? The other shuttle may or may not be a lost cause, but you aren't going to do them any good if you get blown up yourself in the process. So, no, he really couldn't deal with it right then.

Yeah. I like the character, but that has never, ever stopped me from making fun of anyone. ...If anything, I pick on the characters I like more. (Hi, Squall, James...)

Also no more robot icons, self. Find a good happy one.

Never thought I'd actually make one of these, but I want to use this icon and have nothing to say about any of my plot bunnies at this time.

...The ears made me do it. >.>

If this is still tired well, hey, there Freud funny in the morning, I obviously didn't get enough sleep.

(If anyone wants to use it, they're free to.)

I've been largely avoiding playing video games these days because my television's screen has been slanting down and to the left. It makes it hard to see parts of menus, or dialogue. Forget watching anything with subtitles because you'll miss ninety percent of the dialogue. It was a decent enough television (or perhaps I only think this because I saved my money and bought it myself)...

When my grandmother died (not quite a year ago), my father ended up with her television. It's larger than the one we'd had downstairs forever, with better sound quality, so we retired the old one. Dad decided last weekend that I could have the old television if he couldn't fix mine. Saturday saw the thing's guts all over the floor but no solution to the slanting. New TV for me.

Photo class is going miserably. My first role of film was eaten by the camera; I shot the roll then wound it up, but when I opened the back, none of the film had wound and, instead, the negatives had been split up the center. It was weird, but the teacher told me to just bring in two rolls for this week. Yesterday, I went it with my two rolls (both of which had wound properly) and ran them through the developing process (along with everyone else in the class, though most of them only had one role), but when we were finished and we pulled our film off the reels, mine were both completely blank. They hadn't even been exposed!

Right after class, I went up the mall to the camera repair shop. The people there couldn't see anything that would be wrong - the film was winding and advancing, the shutter was working, all that. They kept it overnight to dissect the thing and see if they could find any problem, but they called this afternoon and, nope. Nothing. Camera should, by all rights, be working. So no one knows what's going on. Maybe I'm just destined to flunk and/or drop out of photography. Feh.

The ads are staying. I'm going to make a few icons sometime soon. There will be terrible, terrible puns that I am already ashamed of. Cyclonus should just shoot me now and get it over with.

LJ looks different and it confuses my simple brain. *meep* Now I have to look to find things instead of just going there. Blarg.

I liked the other colors better, too, but it is still blue and blue is still a good color.

Possibly I just do not like change very much. It is entirely possible.

Ads aren't bothering me terribly yet (but then, how much time do I spend looking at my own journal?), so they'll probably stick around, if only because I like icons too much. Now I just need to (make and) upload more.

I hope it's not as rainy on Saturday as it's been these last two days. I need to get outside and do some line drawings for my art class and take some pictures for photo, and it's hard to do that in the rain.

In other news, I think I might be building a little bit of upper body strength with all this lifting and cleaning I've been doing in the bakery. The muffin trays aren't as heavy as they originally seemed and I can now lift five flat trays without much difficulty. I'm... less wimpy. Wow. o_O
This one is less rant-y.

There's a very, very nice Target exclusive coming out that features Ultra Magnus and Skywarp. There are no Targets in this state. Arg. arg arg arg. Unfair. (And the Wal*Mart has essentially stopped carrying Transformers, which leaves me only with Toys "R" Us, which very rarely restocks. Very sad.) ...you are never too old for toys shut up STOP JUDGING ME

That is a pretty "versus" set. Look at that Skywarp. LOOK AT IT! *grabby hands* Maybe they'll make a Thundercracker, too.

I will own it. I just have no idea how.

Classes start today. I only have one, since my spreadsheets class was cancelled. Guitar, whoo! Hopefully I can find my classroom.

There's a Blinky in the "Sages" Nexus. Brilliance. :D

Thinking (again) about "upgrading" to a Plus account. I have an irrational weakness for icons. Also I have no Transformers icons and this should be rectified. ...I said almost exactly this two entries ago. Erm.

So, work's going okay so far. Today was only my third day, and I still don't know how to really do too much, but I am learning! I'm a little sore from lifting and carrying around racks of muffins and cookies and pies, and scrubbing counters and floors and... everything else all day, though. Stupid neck.

For the last few days (pretty much since my last entry...) the internet has been either down completely or very slow and flaky. It's fixed now, thankfully. ...not an addict, really! ._.

So, obviously I have been watching too much G1. Very recently, I somehow ended up watching the second half of season two, the movie, and all of season 3 in the course of about two days, so my brain is a little dead. I blame Mike. He's the one who wanted to watch it. Ignore that I could have said no or something. He lets me pause the episode and run commentary and spout off random facts or compare continuities halfway through the episode.

Friday, while I was driving to work, I was followed (rather closely) for a ways by a bright yellow, shiny sports car (nothing really super fancy, but it was a very pretty car). Mostly I was too busy looking forward (eyes on the road and all), but tailgaters make me a little nervous so I kept glancing back at it in the rearview mirror and mostly trying to ignore it as they (couldn't see the driver at all, so I don't know if it was a guy or a girl...) practically drove up my exhaust pipe and occasionally drifted side to side and stuff. Impatient driver or something. The last light before my work turn-off was red, so I sat in the left turn lane and zoned out. The left lane gets a turn arrow a few seconds before the 'go straight' lane changes to green, so I was halfway around the corner when the yellow car (who was in the other lane) completely floors it and charges through the intersection - there was just a yellow blur in the rear-view mirror. ... For perhaps an incredibly stupid reason, I giggled insanely until I pulled into the parking lot a few minutes later. ...I've started mentally referring to it as Sunstreaker, even though I know it wasn't a Lambo. I suspect I will be maimed for this someday, but geez.

I finally posted that XI-bit (I put it here a few weeks ago) up on FF.net. No reviews, but it's been getting hits so, in theory, people have been reading it. That's more than enough for me.

I have an irrational desire for more icons. There is no such thing as too many icons! And I really, really need a Transformers one. I don't want ads, though. Hm. Dilemmas.

...My brother gets good Chinese and sushi once a week in his cafeteria. *sigh* Some people get all the luck.

Whatever. Gonna replay Dirge of Cerberus or something now.
