But the day was not a bust!

Went with my mother when she went for her haircut. Sat around bored until that was finished, then we went down to Burlington where I registered for classes. Whee? I have absolutely got to stop putting myself into two back-to-back three hour classes. SIX HOURS IS TOO LOOOOONG.

Anyway. Classes. Hoorah. Anyone saying, "Jecca, I thought you graduated in June" would be absolutely correct. But back to school again I go.

The course book had an unfortunate entry. I do not think they were reading what they had written very well. "Intro to Substance Abuse."

... yeah. Think I know a few people who must've taken that one.

We also bought groceries and went to the Big Lots (ie, cheap stuff for cheap) where Mom finally bought my brother a desk for his school-provided apartment, and I found Transformers Knock-offs in the toy department! They had some Beast Wars copies (dragon Megatron! In black and ... reddish! And "Optimal" Optimus Primal in the wrong colors) that had Beast Machines Cheetor on the packaging, and then they had some other things. I actually ended up buying a couple, heh.

The one I spotted first, well... It's WST-Prowl made larger to about the size of G1 Prowl. He has less articulation than G1 Prowl! How is that possible? And his chevron is yellow, but whatever. Clearly WST-only-bigger. The packaging killed me! "SPACE WARRIORS: TRANSFORMABLE AUTO-BOTS" I do not think they are even trying anymore, honestly. Auto-Bots. Yes.

I think some of them were minicons made big, too. Was funny. You can see them in this thread. I've got the yellow one, the police car one, and the red one with police lights. I'm calling them "Wants-To-Be Sunstreaker," "Wants-To-Be Prowl," and "Wants-To-Be Sideswipe" (respectively).

Doing amazingly better in Jak II this time around. I only ran into the walls maybe three or four times each on the races. Erol's been the hardest one so far, but I've yet to run the final race. We are getting near the end, though. I am fairly certain she does not suspect the Big Reveal that I had guessed ten minutes into things. Though at another time... She was asking if Torn and Ashelin look similar for any reason (my reaction: Torn and Ashelin look similar?) but I misinterpreted the very generic statement ("Woah, is it just me or do they look alike?" Eh? Oh, it, er... "Do you even know who I'm talking about?" [Spoilers (you can probably guess who if you've played or read my rambles): er, character-v1 and character-v.5]? "No, I meant Torn and Ashelin."). Oh, well.

Sunday seems to be, "stay up until unholy hours playing video games and doing homework" night. Though I suppose technically it is Monday morning now. Whatever.

Anyway, I've been playing Jak II on and off all weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and I beat it! Any remaining coherency is really rather gone by the end of this, seeing as it is... almost 4 am and I am still awake.

To the end! )

That was awesome!

I really like video games where I manage to guess at least some of the giant plot points before they're actually revealed. It usually means I was thinking about the game a lot and that the developers put in enough information for it all to make sense. The weird thing is that I don't like movies where I can do that. Usually because I end up predicting the entire plot while watching it, and I'm not supposed to be able to predict the entire story while watching it. I do not think about the plot while watching/playing! That usually comes during breaks and stuff. (So, uh basically, if I am predicting your movie while watching it for the first time, it might be too ... you know, predictable.)

(Some games are stupidly predictable, too, of course, but that is another story, and on and on.)

Also I died a lot.

Death list for today )

And of course...

Cumulative )

...aand, that might be it for a while. We'll see how much schoolwork I'm given before I pop in Jak 3. (Ha, they change their numbering system. That is oddly amusing! hee!)

Not that I went and bought it halfway through the first game or anything.

Oh. I collected 527 Metal Head... things... and only 62 Precursor Orbs.

I ended up not going into work today, because I spend the day on my feet, and when the room starts spinning every time you stand up? Yeah, bad times. I'm fine, so long as I'm sitting down and not talking. Besides, I work with food. You don't want a sick person handling your food. (Also I don't think running around in a giant freezer would be good for me right now.) So I played Jak II on and off all day (like when I wasn't napping or making tea. mmm, tea).

This is long. )

And the deaths for the day.

Still not cumulative, of course. )

I have come to the conclusion that the writing I see around town must actually be that: writing. There's probably a way to crack it.

...Which means I get to learn another fictional language/code! I mean, what's one more on top of Maximal and Predacon glyphs, Al Bhed, my own made up alphabet, and ... whatever little bit of Tolkien's Elven I can remember, which really isn't much. (Oh, I am a terrific dork.)

Yay!

Though first I might google it to see if anyone else has cracked it, first. I am sure people have, I just do not know if I will be able to find it. (I think I have "H" figured out, since Krew's bar is the Hip Hog Bar, and the shape at the beginning of the sign over the door appears twice.)

Said in the earlier post that I'd probably play more today, and here it is. Not as long (plot-progression-wise) as the others, though there's some odd plot-musings near the bottom. Mostly me ranting about certain characters.

That said, I've kind of spammed LJ in the last twenty-four hours, so if you're expecting some kind of continuity, you're in the wrong place read this one first.

Jak II, part IV )

And, of course, the death list continues to be non-cumulative.

The racing death count is surprisingly low. )

That is all. Tomorrow (er, later today, really) I am going to make [livejournal.com profile] travelers_flame watch Top Gear, and then I am going to make her narrate her thoughts.

It's okay, really, she's agreed to it. None of that "against her will" stuff at this time. Never mind. ~_~;

Snow total is at just over three feet. There is no yardstick there was no car on the side of the driveway. The wall of snow at the end of the driveway is almost as tall as me (it had help from the snowplows going by all night). The cat tried to go out and got to the bottom step and... just kind of stood there looking confused for a long moment. Also it hurts my eyes to look out the window. It's like LOOK I AM WHITE AND I BURN YOUR RETINAS.

So, because I have nothing better to do on a day when I am snowed in, I - yes - played more Jak II. Possibly too much.

In which Jecca's mind is /utterly destroyed/. )

I probably should have seen that coming, too! I just... it doesn't... HOW FAR? When? I - arg - no. Arg. No.

They need to start explaining things now because otherwise I fear I am going to explode messily. Tifa gave Cloud some advice once. She told him to stop thinking. I think I am going to try and take that advice, too, right now.

Anyway, the death tally. Not cumulative.

Brain shutdowns not counted. )

Those camouflaged Metal Heads should not ever have been allowed to exist. Ugh.

Probably play more today, since we're still not going anywhere.
I have literally nothing to do on Mondays. I walked the dog, did my homework, and then... played more video games. I'm really rather glad I'm busy most other days, really, because I imagine I'd be rather insane were this the entirety of my life.

More deranged Jak II Ramblings. )

I have also been keeping a Death List for this game. I... currently seem to be dying a whole lot less, but this is probably because there are no islands of never-ending mist everywhere for me to fall into and die. Plus, there's still (probably) plenty of time to catch up. (I am actually enjoying keeping these Death Lists. I wonder if they're going to become a part of my game play, like the Ramblings have.)

Death for Jak II )

I got a package in the mail today from some friends over in California! They offered to pick up the Target-exclusive Ultra Magnus and Skywarp two-park for me (since there are no Targets in this state), and it came! Skywarp is... very, very pretty. Magnus is nice, too, of course, but I really love the jet-mold they have, and black and purple just look great together. mm, pretty. ^_^

We are supposed to get a huge storm either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm hoping it comes in either Tuesday evening after I am home or Wednesday evening after I am home, because either way that allows plenty of time for the snowplows and sand trucks to get out before I have to try to drive in it all.

What, in the name of all that is good, am I doing awake? It is 5:30 in the morning.

... I am playing video games, of course (and talking to people online and writing and occasionally fiddling with Ramjet). I only wish I were kidding.

So, uh, yes, Jak II.

First Impressions: Yaaaaaay new ga- ... wow, that's a lot of required memory. Okay. Try the other memory card.

...okay, time to delete me some files, then.

*minus 14 data files later...*

... for the love of - ! *game: saves* Thank you.

FUN TIMES. Actually, they were all old, outdated files I needed to clear out anyway. Really, I made it past the opening without too much further hassle. That is not the point.

The point is in here somewhere. It's like a game! Can /you/ find the actual purpose of the LJ post? )

Really, I suppose I should go to bed now. I'm just not tired tonight.

Edit:
I suppose you can disregard the above question-ramble, since I'm posting some of it now, anyway.

Daxter's insane expression at the title screen made me laugh. )

More to come as I... y'know, get farther in the game. Yeah, funny concept, that.
