BOOYAH. I AM ON THE LIST! I get to go on the Hasbro tour! (I totally just "outed" my name to anyone who's been paying any sort of attention to my real life details. AND NOW YOU KNOW. Whatever. I'm sure it's important to someone.)

WON'T ANYONE STOP LAUGHING AND BE HAPPY FOR ME?

... yay! :D

Yes. So. Wednesday, Aniko arrived. I was supposed to be at work from noon until 8, but I was struck down quite suddenly by a stomach virus or something and ended up having to go home. I had a fever, too. I'm not sure if it was the Advil or the three hours I spent passed out on my bed that broke it, but I didn't eat anything for dinner and actually didn't eat much of anything at all up until lunch time today. Stupid queasiness. I am better now, though, thankfully!

Tomorrow we throw things in the car and drive off. Two day drive, hooray. So don't expect to hear from me until the 19th! You probably won't! (If you do, it'll be a literal hearing, as it'll have to be a phone post since, you know... no internet that I know of.)

So if anyone needs me to know something, SPEAK UP NOW, because after tomorrow morning, I will not be here.

I am hoping to get some writing done while in the car. This'd work better if I had any ideas to go on that didn't require Mirage to not be giving me the silent treatment.

Last Sunday, our router decided it hated life, the universe, and everything in it, and attempted to commit suicide. Obviously, this took out the entire computer network here. My brother hacked into it (yes, we had to hack our own router) and managed to get it working again, but it was unreliable and flaky for several days.

He was originally worried that someone else had hacked into it and locked it. They hadn't, but he closed it so now you have to have your computer registered with it via MAC address.

But now I have internet again! Yay.

Really, I suppose it was just as well, because I had quite a depressive slump and I'd been doing so well, too. ugh. God, I suck and I have no idea what's wrong with me so I'm going to shut up now a few days ago (IT'S GOING AWAY NOW, I SWEAR), and this spared everyone else having to see any of that.

((Edit:
And I apparently missed LJ's fandom users going up on arms over excessive journal suspensions/deletions/whatever. Er. Man, reality, I was joking about the online world trying to end while I was stuck away from it.))

In which I go on a tangent about summer plans. )

So. I need fanfiction, stat. (Did you know "stat" comes from an abbreviation of the Latin word "statim," which means "immediately" or "instantly" and the like? I miss Latin class so much it hurts sometimes. No lie.) Now the question is just, which fandom? Check for new Transformers stuff? Brave the Final Fantasy sections (ha, that's unlikely)? Maybe I will see if the Jak fandom has anything interesting to offer, now that I have been murdered by beaten the, er, first three. (I can't say I will ever attempt Jak X, since it appears to consist of racing racing and more racing and no thanks. Perhaps I am wrong on that, though. I haven't looked very much into it.)

Edit II:
RIGHT YES. The Adventurer Appreciation Campaign in Final Fantasy XI was finally a complete success for me, in that Hisime finally got herself an Adventuring Certificate! It's now hanging over her bed! See, she is very happy about it. /hurray

And SquareEnix launched the link-to-able Wings of the Goddess site! Just a video up for now. I get chills at about the time the text reads, "Are the echoes of history all that remain of the past?" Though the song playing through the opening scenes usually gets me, too. I love that track (Memoro de la Ĺštono) so much.

I wore my Giant Heartless Logo shirt today, but no one commented on it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOCIETY? HAS NO ONE IN THIS STATE PLAYED KINGDOM HEARTS?
Back from NYC. Had fun, mostly. I... have personal space issues so, the way people in cities (and New York has always been the worst, in my experiences) have absolutely no concept of where they are in relation to anything else really gets to me after the nine-hundredth elbow in the face or what-have-you.... Snappy today because of it.

Didn't do much while over there )

...Tired. Was going to finish checking Friends List and make a longer entry and such, but only got through two entries, and am drained. I think I'm just going to bed instead.

New York was fun. My brothers roommates were as unobtrusive / annoying (respectively) as he said they were (see, he's in a triple). I got to one-up the annoying guy several times, though, so it was all good. ...I just get some sort of sick pleasure from proving people wrong when they hold the opinion that they are always right and know everything.

Oh, we went to a presentation about mathematical patterns in nature (the school was offering a whole bunch of little classes and lectures and such). The math professor giving the talk wasn't a native English speaker, but it wasn't too obvious. However, while he was talking about repeating and mirror images, he kept using this one phrase; identically the same to each other. It cracked me up every time, and he must have used it at least seventy times. It just sounds so silly. XD

I could've done without the eight hours (each way) of driving, but you can't have everything.

There was a surprisingly large amount of roadkill. I'm used to seeing skunks and squirrels around, but foxes, raccoons, possums, deer, and cats? In ridiculous quantities? It was very sad.

I got the KT Tunstall CD and Classics Bumblebee (he's adorable!). Actually, I was a little disappointed. While admittedly the Classics line hasn't been out very long, it has yet to even have a slot on the shelves here. There were several pegs at the store we visited in NY, but that Bumblebee was the only one left. I was hoping to see Rodimus and Starscream. ...well, I'm sure they'll hit this state by next March, anyway. Now, the odds of us getting a Target in time for the Ultra Magnus and Skywarp set, on the other hand...

I have got to stop reading that one gender-bent Starscream fic. It is making my poor brain cry.

In other news, I now have not only succeeded in developing film for Photography, but I have made prints, as well! Oh, happy day. Maybe I'll even be able to catch up at this rate (I mean, I'm only, what, four weeks behind everyone? It's week six now).

Also, Guitar is killing me. I cannot hit half of those chords, and the ones I can hit I take too long to find. At least I can read the sheet music (when we're not using tablature). It also makes my wrist act up. I've been having to wear my brace again. I really hadn't missed the thing.

About a week and a half ago, me and my family and two friends were driving back from a family reunion / funeral / vacation. We go home through Canada. Anyway.

It's either a sixteen hour straight drive or a two day drive, so we usually stop for the night in Mattawa - no exception this time, either. We get up and get our early start and it's about six hours down the road that my friend suddenly realizes she left a stuffed dog (his name is Ru* >_>;) in the hotel. Technically, I think it's my dog. She bought it, but she gave it to me, and mostly it lives with me. At the same time, we kind of share him.

* Ru is partially named after an original character of mine. He - the character - was the first thing I thought of when I saw the dog and then was unable to get it out of my head. To avoid confusion, I refer to the dog as Ru-Puppy most of the time.

Whatever, it was way too late to turn around and get the thing, so I called the hotel when we got home later that evening. According to the guy there, they had found the dog. He said they could mail it back using the address used to pay for the rooms (that being Mom's) and billing and such.

Still haven't seen the dog.

Mom, since it is her name in the address and all, decided to call them again today. The person she talked to had no idea about any of it, and when Mom checked online, she hadn't been charged for shipping yet. So apparently he's lost.

I have no idea how to break the news that Ru might be lost. I mean, she feels bad enough about bringing him into the room and then leaving him there in the first place. ..."Break the news?" It's like someone died or something.

It's kind of immature and all - I mean, it's just a stuffed dog - but at the same time I'm worried about him. It. Whatever.

...Possibly the mail system just hates me, because I was supposed to be getting my DVD set back something like a month ago, but I don't think the person who has it has even mailed it yet. If they have sent it, then it's probably not ever going to show up here, as it would have done so by now. ...That's irritating. I don't want to have to get a new one again.
