MY BROTHER IS A GRAVITY-DEFYING CEILING-CRAWLING SPIDER-MONKEY MUTANT THING.

WHAT.

WHAAAAT.
So, we had someone up to visit this weekend, which I can't remember if I mentioned or not. THERE IT IS, ANYWAY. We... did some stuff! Mostly wandering around downtown and in/around Waterbury. Which is nowhere near downtown. But my parents loaned me one of the cars (the damned van and, naturally, it's got a new problem now) so we went off to visit the cider mill and the cheese store and the ice cream factory. There was a fair amount of exposure to robots, too. It never seems like I really have that many until they're out and all over the floor (some in various stages of transformation). (I have too many movie-line toys...)

Flocked entry with slightly more details may or may not follow later, depending on my mood.

In other news, we appear to have broken Aniko's FFXI addiction, but only by replacing it with entirely another (... mostly her words translated into my word-usage, those). We all went out to see Watchmen Saturday night - she - Ani - hadn't seen it yet, and, hey, car, so we could go to one of the fancier places - and now, less than forty-eight hours later, she has seen the movie again, read my copy of the graphic novel, purchased her own copy of the graphic novel, bought a poster and the soundtrack and has, from all I can tell, been listening to it (or at least "Unforgettable") on loop for the past 3+ hours.

I'm not sure that my levels of amusement are entirely appropriate, but I do find it slightly hilarious.

Super excited. My parents just paid me back some money they owed me, and it looks like I'll be getting a fair sum back. Basically, my plane and hotel fees are all covered.

Also, I don't have a Monday night class again until our last class at the beginning of May.

... Strange lives.

I'm not sure what this was about, but maybe half an hour ago, car horns started going off. And they kept going off. It sounded like it was coming from downtown. I've been going over my classwork and such, and my ankle's still pretty gimp (and it bothers me more on days I start by standing around for three hours), so I didn't go investigating, but... listen to this. (You'll probably have to turn your volume up.)

Video )

I know the image is very boring. I was holding the camera right up to the window because the sound capture isn't very good.

(Now remember to turn your volume back down.)

Kinda creepy.

They finally stopped just a little bit ago, thankfully, but I really wonder what was the cause of all that.

Edit:
Apparently this may have been the St. Patrick's Day parade. I would not have ever guessed that.

The attack - and by "attack" I mean, "trip down the street" - went off with... okay, several instances of me not knowing what the heck I was supposed to be doing, BUT IT HAPPENED, and I was victorious!

And then it started pouring as I was walking home, and then I was just soggy.

... wh-what do you mean it's already dawn?

I am a bit annoyed about having to navigate the spiders' lair that is the shed, though.

Also, this is probably tacky as all get out. OH WELL.
