Bird seed! Plant it. Grow a bird.

Bizarre happenings in the neighbourhood.

Yesterday, I ventured downstairs to find the nice people across the street had a tropical bird problem. Their front lawn was infested with flamingos. This was very strange.

It only became stranger when we learned that all twenty-plus plastic brine shrimp-eaters had appeared quite rapidly between 8 and 8:30 that morning without anyone seeing it happen. The first is when a man who lives down the street walked past, the second is when my mother left for church.

This morning, they were gone again.

Most perplexing.

... What strikes me the most about this is that, years ago, the boy who used to live across the street and I would walk home from school. There's a bit of a speeding problem on the road my house is on, so sometimes, after an especially lead-footed moron would fly past, we would discuss ways to trick that sort into slowing down some. One idea was to obtain many plastic pink flamingos and plant them along the entire length of the road.

It sounds as if they've been hit by flamingoers. I read about flamingoing some time ago and never forgot about it because, well, you don't forget about something that weird. I am amused to hear that it actually does happen!

I've never heard of such a thing before! That's awesome! And... really weird.
