Clearly there is something wrong with me.

It is inevitable that I rant about whatever I happen to be doing in my spare time to the people I talk to. [livejournal.com profile] travelers_flame heard a bit about my Jak exploits and wanted to see the games, see the plot, etc.

She didn't want to play them.

...

So, I beat Jak and Daxter in what was probably under ten hours (look, I have no idea what my time was, and that seems like a very safe guess), still managing to snag 100 Power Cells (a different 100, ha) and more Precursor Orbs than last time.

It's apparently turned into a second Ecco, in that I proclaim to hate every section of the game. Also, I hate Lurker sharks. A lot. (I did die considerably less, at least. Not that I only died a little, just that I died less. I was still crying from laughing too hard at a few of those places I just can't survive in. Why is death funny?)

Now we've started Jak II, we've only just turned the water back on, and I am dreading the racing. But Torn is still awesome, and I didn't realize we "met" (read: saw) Tess so early. (Also, grr, Kor. I hate you.)

Though the opening of that game makes a whole lot more sense now that I know what's going on.

I'm continuing the trend of dying less so far. I really hope it continues!

He didn't recognize it, but even now he still didn't recognize everything in the waters. He knew it was big, he knew it was ugly, and he knew it wasn't anything good - probably another Vortex-spawn, or something similar.

Ecco hung back a moment, considering it. It was huge, so it might put up a bit of a fight, but it couldn't be any worse than the Queen had been. He charged.

With a strange whumpf, the creature - and here Ecco chirped in surprise - dissolved into globs of greenish goop that, impossibly, neither sunk nor floated.

How odd.

He jumped into the air and caught sight of one of those strange land-creatures. It gaped at him. Twice, maybe, or maybe there were two of them? Whatever. With his lungs full again, Ecco dived back under the waves and swam off.

I FEAR I MAY TRY TO WRITE THE SEQUEL: ECOO VS. DARK ECO-OPUS.

But first I would have to go see the thing.
