Unyielding Cynicism Wins Again!
If you're cynical enough, no matter what, the world just has to step in and prove you wrong.
... Of course, it doesn't make up for irony, which will step in and ensure the above statement is, in fact, false sometime within the next twenty-four hours.
Anyway, got one of my packages today. Fortunately for my nerves, it was the dog! \(^.^)/
Now I just need my DVDs and for my transcript to go through. ...I'm doomed.
Speaking of Transformers, which we weren't but as the DVDs I'm waiting on are Transformers DVDs... I guess Peter Cullen is doing the voice of Prime in the movie coming out next summer? ("747" oh they are so clever) That's cool. I wasn't real particular about who they got for the role so long as they could do a good job, but that they did get Cullen is, again, very cool, and has undoubtedly made a lot of people extremely happy. (I didn't grow up with G1 - well, okay, I did, but more in the sense of I was born around the same time it was - so maybe that helps. I watched some of it as reruns and it was fun and all, but it wasn't anything I paid much attention to, either. I came in with Beast Wars and went backwards (and forward) from there.
I want my DVDs to get here (redundancy is our friend). Then I could at least watch the movie. According to the people at the post office, though, if they were sent standard mail (as opposed to priority), it could take them as long as a week just to leave the state of Maine. *sigh* Irritating.
I need to find the 10th anniversary Primal and Megatron figures.
I started a new character in D2. I haven't abandoned my Sorceress (I love me my sorceress - which is odd, considering I don't actually play her effectively as a mage character. What do you mean, I'm not supposed to beat the monster with my staff?), but I was really sick of not being able to do anything. Evil patch.
I picked Barbarian, since we already have an Amazon, Druid, and Necromancer in the group and I have no desire to play Paladin. (Apparently Assassin is an even worse choice than Sorceress for this version.) I named him Grimlock and occasionally annoy my brother by typing things in broken English.
It distresses me that I've been playing my Sorceress (Setsuna) for about a week and have only reached level 30 and then, in under a day, I got Grimlock to level 20.
...But I can kill things! ... This is a new experience for me, really. I seem to just really like weak job classes.... Thief, Sorceress.... To be fair, my Sorceress in normal D2 is pretty good. My original was awesome, with great gear and stuff, but my brother and I lost our original characters a year or ... four? Ago when Dad reformatted the computers without letting anyone back anything up. Well, at least he never tried that again? ...My battle.net character was pretty good, too, but she got deleted by the system during the time when we had no computers that could run the game and the internet at the same time.
And THF isn't entirely useless now that I have THII. Ignore that I only hit 45 last week from the experience pages handed out for the chocobo-racing thing and that I've been playing this character with thief as my main job since the North American release back in, what, 2003?
Ninja is the boringest job ever. ...Not really the most boring, but I certainly don't like it. I still need to get it to 37. I'm only at 22. @_@ At least I have most of my scrolls. Now, the money for all the ninjutsu? That's another story. I have shihei down, at least for a while, but I need completely new armor, as I have almost no + eva gear (and all the gear I do have can't be worn by the ninja job class! Of course!), and I don't have any tools for any of the other spells. I know from watching other people try it that it's pretty much impossible to tank using only Provoke and Utsusemi:Ichi.
Still need a hairpin for my main, too. Well, not need, but I still kind of want one. At least I hit 45.
Need to level monk on all three of my characters, though. Hisi's up to 15, but Aya and Ki are both at 13 (and poor Ki doesn't even have a subjob yet, so she's never going to get any invites). Maybe I'll solo them all up to 20 on funguars or something. Keeps me out of the Dunes of BLINDING YOU OH OH BRIGHT SCREEN OW, at least.
I want to play more Silent Hill 2. I want to leave the jail because I hate the jail... I want to run very, very quickly away from Pyramid Head and jump down holes and go down elevators and, really, how much further down can James go before he comes out the other side?! >.> Mostly, though, I want to get back out of the blasted jail. ...Of course, that just leads into the labyrinth. Remind me again why I like these games so much?
In conclusion, never leave your retainers out for a month. I don't care how bad the cold sore outbreak was. It doesn't matter that you've worn them almost every night for five and a half years. Your teeth will move completely out of position and it will take you a good fifteen minutes to force the lower one on. Then you'll have to bite your teeth together to keep it there and your jaw will begin to ache.
...Also, your teeth will undoubtedly murder you in the morning when you then try to remove said retainer.
Maybe I will wake up and find my pain receptors have been turned off. Mm. That'd be nice. Or maybe I'll just leave the thing in all day.
I think I have a cavity, too. Cold things make my tooth hurt a whole lot. No ice cream! D:
Still, I'd rather have a cavity and impending pain from retainers and forced moving of teeth than no dog (or DVDs. ...So, postal service, where are they?).
Also. Dog. :D
