ack! Me bloody veins!

I'd call myself an idiot, but I made the doctor's appointment before I knew when (or, indeed, where) I was moving.

But anyway! I went to the doctor today (just a routine checkup) and everything was fine (well, okay, mostly fine, but that story is boring because there are no battle scars) until the end, when they came to give me a shot and collect blood. And the shot went fine, too, though I think I weirded the girl out by being so relaxed about it. Yeah, yeah, needle, whatever. BUT THEN, OH. THEN. Then they tried to draw blood.

IT WENT BADLY WRONG.

I have a bruise the size of my fist (or so it feels. I can't say for certain, of course, because I am a mass of bandaids and gauze) forming in the crook of my right elbow and it hurts to move it. They stabbed me twice in the right arm (where the better veins are) and the first one missed entirely - the vein shifted, what a bastard - and the second one I guess my anti-vampire wards are too powerful or something, 'cause they definitely hit the vein, but blood wouldn't go into the tube. They resorted to using a butterfly on my left arm (which feels fine for now but will probably be achy tomorrow from the tetanus booster). And I am not, like, irritated at the two people I had working on my arms or anything. They were both really nice and the first vein has given trouble before and it was early in the morning and I hadn't had anything to drink in at least 10 hours, so my veins weren't as awesome as they could've been.

Really, though, this is not even close to how badly my arm hurt after that one phlebotomy class where my draw partner went burrowing around in my arm with the needle (aaaaugh). It is just annoying that I've had an arm disabled when I really need to be working on unpacking.

ALSO PICS OF THE NEW PLACE AFTER I GET THINGS LESS IN BOXES. Pretend you are excited!

Now the question is, WILL LJ POST THIS ENTRY? Or has it broken again in the time I've spent typing this up...
