I'm not entirely fond of late night (or very early morning, whichever the case may be) excursions to airports, but, well. Mom made it home fine. Her plane was late taking off from Chicago (but then who is really surprised by that?) and they changed which station the luggage would be at three times or so.
She brought back stuff... My grandmother apparently realized when my brother graduated last spring (which, I suspect, she only really thought about because I have a few cousins out there in California with her that are the same age as my brother) that she'd never acknowledged my high school graduation back in 2004. I don't really care, but she felt bad and decided to buy me a fancy silver necklace/chain. ... She even knows I don't wear jewelery. I don't know why she keeps insisting on buying me things like this. I'm probably never going to wear it. It is pretty, it's just... not anything I have any use for.
On the other hand, Mom bought me a few Target-exclusive Transformers toys. Fun!
While she was in the store, she says she was talking to some guy who was bragging about how he'd bought the only two 2009 Bumblebee toys at another store (there weren't any at the store Mom was in) and kept one and sold the other on eBay for over 50$. jerk jerk jerk jerk! honestly.
On the way to the airport, we saw someone get pulled over for ... whatever reason, and we passed a house with a bunch of firetrucks outside it. And firemen, and the distinct smell of smoke.
We have a new manager for the bakery at work, who does not seem to realize that this is not the Milton store and we do things slightly differently here. Also, my place of employment is being remodeled and is a complete mess. It is making things hard.
Attention customers:
Bakery associate is not responsible for renovations. Bakery associate does not, in fact, like said renovations any more than you. Bakery associate would request that you go to the Customer Service Desk to ask where the dog food is being shelved today, because she doesn't know, either. This is the bakery.
Bakery associate will also thank you kindly for not blaming her for the utter disorganization of the store.
