And most of the cheese.

Do not ask why I am awake at this unholy hour.

So, my week. Well, week and a half. My parents had been planning on hopping over to visit my brother for a bit, do some other random sight-seeing things... The dog is old and feeble and requires a lot of special care, and since my parents were having trouble sitting down and deciding on when to go, they didn't bother booking him and the cat at the kennel. They'd actually asked me a bit ago if I could house-and-pet sit while they were out, and I agreed to, on the conditions that they give me enough warning that I could inform my internship people and wrap up any business here in town, and that there be food in the house. Not, you know, meals, but at least ingredients, yeah? So, last Monday circa 7 pm, my mother contacts me over AIM to let me know they're leaving the next morning, surprise.

Since it was completely last minute, there was, of course, no time to inform the internship people (fortunately, that went without incident, in that there was no delay or outright cancellation, and I was able to tell them that I was at a different number for the rest of the week), no food in the house for me (managed to guilt them into buying me a loaf of bread before they left, at least), and no food for the dog. The dog is allergic to approximately everything, so his diet is very specific. Mom gave me the info, and they gave me money to pay for that, but the place isn't always be able to get it, and if they couldn't, I would have to pick something else to feed him until we could get more food. Fortunately again, I was able to get dog food without incident... And internet at the house has been flaky for the last few months, so I was cut off half the time . And there is nothing to do when you have to watch a feeble old dog who can't even manage halfway around the block. Seriously, I think I spent the entire week mostly sitting on the couch with an eighty pound dog parked on my legs. Thank goodness Aniko let me borrow her PS2 (it was easier to unplug than mine would have been), because otherwise my brain would have run away in boredom.

I was very, very annoyed Tuesday and Wednesday, but I got over it. (I HAVE EATEN ALL OF YOUR POPSICLES AND DILLY BEANS. HAHAHA. REVENGE!) And today when my parents came back, they brought delicious pie and doughnuts and chocolate espresso malted milk balls and jam and... things. Long list. FOOD. Some of which I got to bring back with me. Whee!

And then I came back to find the damn spiders saw my absence as opportunity and so I had to round them all up. Though, once we enter double digits on spider count, I kind of stop caring and start wanting to just kill them. You can only Spider Catcher them - sometimes chasing them across the floor because spiders never know you're trying to be nice - and get to the door and throw them off into the grass so many times (though oh, I love my Spider Catcher, seriously, if you are afraid of spiders but don't want to kill them - or just don't want to have to get close enough to - it is so useful). So I gave up after moving out eleven and noticing there were at least ten more and busted out the vacuum. JECCA RAGE. Because getting angry is sometimes more productive than freaking out.

And then, despite having done nothing much beyond sit all week, I turned on the television to set it up to record later and discovered BBC America was just about to run all of Torchwood: Children of Earth and so somehow I ended up watching that. I did remember to record the Doctor Who special that was on after, at least. (My father wanted to see it, but he was too tired after driving all over the place, so instead of him coming over to watch it, his cassette came over, instead. The poor thing is started to wear a bit thing, but I think the image and sound should be okay...?)

AND THEN I got Aniko watching Doctor Who somehow (???) and right now she's watching the end of series two (Doomsday).

In completely unrelated news, today - yesterday? WEDNESDAY - was the last day of my internship! Now I just need to write a paper and get this all in to the instructor somehow. I am very sad it is over, but at the same time, it is kind of nice? Also, once my current round of blisters clears up, then new ones won't appear. Which, you know, bonus.

Still exhausted all the time, but definitely feeling much better. I hope to be done coughing within the next week or so...
