Only one of them has a Sam?
I'm probably going to overload the portion of my brain dedicated to keeping track of what I'm watching and what's going on in it, but that is okay. We will just all it making up for lost time. You see, after Beast Machines finished showing in, oh, what, late 2000? Jecca didn't watch anything on the TV until, um. Well. Heroes, actually, though there were a few things she watched on DVD in between, primarily while she was at her first college, in the 2005-2006 school year. So, if anyone had been wondering, how is she simply not aware of any of this? THAT IS WHY. (And it's not like she watched much beyond ridiculous robot cartoons for a few years before that, anyway...) (She has since caught up on many things through the internet and reruns, and now she watches House, and occasionally CSI because it is hilariously stupid.)
And, you know, am only plugging away at three different shows right now, anyway, which really isn't so bad. And only one of them has a Sam in it so far! Yaay. Shows in question now: Supernatural (which is progressing VERY SLOWLY, since my mother doesn't have a lot of free time), Lost (which I'm not entirely fond of - it is hard to like a show when you're not overly fond of the main character, but Aniko asked me to so she could ramble at me about it, so, you know... I committed to this one before the others! And then I figure, hey, halfwayish finished, may as well. Possibly I'm masochistic), and now Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which has been sadly predictable so far, but I've been told Season 2 is where it really picks up or something or other with wording that implies it becomes awesome and I always give things more than three episodes before I declare an actual opinion, anyway). (Bonus Fun Fact: without me telling my mother I was considering watching it, she started talking about Buffy. She's not seen it, she was just drawing a comparison or something, but I thought that was kind of weird and amusing.)
I got more Final Fantasy XI music! (Technically my mother did, as it came in her name, but whatever. I stole it from her. AM THF. ME STEALY.) So! Wings of the Goddess expansion soundtrack is MINE and so now I have Ronfaure In The Past (which they call "Autumn Footfalls") STUCK IN MY HEAD. But it's pretty and I love it muchly. And I got a copy of the piano collection, which came with a harpsichord for my Mog House! Shiny.
Here is a strange revelation about myself I keep having and wanting to share with people but never do because I am always afraid I will sound so lame. Shut up, fear.
ME!
No, er, what I mean is, I call myself... Jecca! Jecca Meitahn, Jecca A Meitahn, JeccaAM... and other similar things. I'm quite fond of it. I'm very glad my brain stumbled into it one evening while I was trying not to fall asleep in a class.
It's not the first Not My Birth Name name I've had. Before Jecca, I just used Hisime (which I just stole from my preexisting FFXI character) or Jade (which was my Default NPC Name for EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE for... oh, god, since I was, like, five, or something. I really liked the stone? I have a ring I was given for Christmas one year, and it has a little piece of jade on it, and I thought it was very, very pretty. Shortly thereafter, I found out Jade is also a name, and it stuck with me as a name to use whenever I needed one randomly.)
So my username for most computer games was Jade, and then I had a Diablo II character named Jade, and it was part of my AIM screen name for... oh, a while.
AND THEN JADE-THE-ACTUAL-CHARACTER CAME ALONG AND STOLE IT, BECAUSE SHE'S A JERK LIKE THAT, and then I floundered around a bit looking either for a way to use "Jade" without tromping on Jade or for a new name. There were a few others (several, actually) I poked around with, then Hisime, and now Jecca, and the thing is...
I don't even dislike my own name that much. J-A-M? My actual initials. I quite like the letter, J.
But throughout my entire experience of being bullied, the main offender would, whenever he addressed me, use my name. Usually my first and last name, but sometimes just my first. And, I suspect, largely because of that, I don't like people I like or trust to call me by my actual name. My employers use my name, and complete strangers use my name, and people who don't like me use my actual name.
People who are my friends ... they generally don't. And I like that. It's, I dunno kind of a bizarre safety net of sorts, or something. And it makes me happy when people call me Jecca! Which is probably a bit odd.
I used to have a friend who, even though I... never used my Actual Name around her, even made a point of it, and even though we'd had demented nicknames for each other for ever, only referred to me by my Actual Name for the last few years of our friendship. Oddly, those were the worst years, in as far as her lying to and seemingly avoiding me and such went. It always bugged me when she used my Actual Name, but I never mentioned anything, because by that point, I felt as if I didn't know her, nor she me, anyway.
And I've been very careful with Jecca, using it only as me, and not randomly tagging it on to Other Characters What Are Not Myself, because then one of them might decide to stick around, and then I'll be out a name, and then I'll be very sad and without an identity.
FASCINATING.

I actually don't know if I've ever watched more then a few eps of the first season myself.
I will make sure to call you Jecca more often then. (I normally call you Jackie out of habit more then anything) ^_^

Do you normally call me anything? My brain has catalogued (why doesn't Firefox like that word?) you as one of the people not likely to use names, which either means... well, you don't, or that I just completely don't notice for whatever reason. (I almost never use names when speaking directly to people, which is probably weird in it's own right, and it largely because I never know what to call people!)

As far as the name thing goes you are correct I don't really use names when I can help it. I don't like using names, they... bother me. I just don't see the point in them most of the time. Yeah sure they're useful when you're trying to find someone in a big crowd, but that can also cause just as many problems. (How many people in the fucking world are named Sarah again?) I normally say things like "my friend" more then using names, but sometimes when explaining things to other people names unfortunately, and much to my dismay, do have to be used and on those rare and annoying occasions when I am forced into using someone's name I've normally used Jackie, but I will gladly replace that With Jecca. ^_^

Didn't I declare myself Sarah-with-a-J or something once? It was a silent J, like Jsarah, or Sarahj or something, or I don't know (HOLY GODS I JUST GOOGLED "SARAH WITH A J", OKAY, AND SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY SPELL IT JARAH.) and now ive lost whatever my train of thought was
... :P
... I do also respond readily to Hisime, still, because FFXI is still my lovely, lovely addiction, and because Aniko calls me that. ... Kinda like how I. Call her by her character. Yeah. But yes, she prefers Jecca. And randomly switching to third person mid-paragraph, apparently.

Anyways, it's funny who sometimes the people who never call you by your "real name" or the ones who know the real you the best.
I remember seeing a few episodes of Lost when it was first airing, and there were some things I liked about it, but once I'd lost track of when it was on, I never really bothered looking into it more.
ANYWAYS. I hope the first season hasn't been too disappointing, but I'm glad you're not hating it! (And please, know that if you decide it's not your thing I'm going to be like OMG NEVAR SPEEK TO YOU AGAAAAIIIIIIINNN.)

Lost has some very interesting stuff going on! (And some just WTF?! stuff going on, too...) But I don't really like the main character - or, indeed, at least a third of the original cast, though something like half of them are all dead now, aren't they? Hm. Anyway, that makes it a bit hard to watch at times.
I will definitely say something along the lines of it not working for me if I get sick of it or whatever!
