If you blink, you're dead.

Monday nights are good, because the Canadian channel we pick up airs "new" Doctor Who episodes. New to North America, anyway! I've already seen all of them, I think, but whatever, I don't mind rewatching them (on a proper screen!) in the least. So Dad records it (it starts while I'm still at work) and then we watch it after I get home.

And mostly I am just ridiculously happy because tonight was "Blink," and even though it still freaks me out (that episode scares me slightly more than it should, maybe, up until the ending sequence at which point I just laugh a lot. LOOK STATUES OH NOES), I really like that one. (It delights me to no end that we the viewers - fourth wall? What fourth wall? - seeing the angels on the screen is enough to make them be stone. I really love that.) Though, self, we are not going to spend the next week looking over our shoulders in paranoia again, thank you. ONCE OF THAT WAS ENOUGH.

I still think the guy (his last name's Nightingale and I don't know his first. The brother of the woman who went to 1920) Laurence (hooray inability to remember names!) should've just held one eye open, but I guess in the face of that, not thinking clearly is entirely permissible. gaah.

(Dad doesn't like the episodes that happen in the present day. I've no idea what's wrong with him.)

I CAN'T BELIEVE ANYONE CAN POSSIBLY HAVE FORGOTTEN THE GUY'S NAME. It was Laurence Nightingale. Honestly.

Blink has to be one of my favourite episodes, despite the fact that my brothers spent about a day after it sneaking up on me and freezing with their hands over their faces or snarling expressions whenever I looked around.

O I AM SHAMED. When it comes to names, I am possibly the most useless person in the world!

Hee! I do not have to worry about that because my brother is a freak and somehow doesn't like Doctor Who.

I am utterly rubbish at remembering names, but I tend to be fairly capable when the name is a dreadful, dreadful play on anything.

That icon has reminded me: er, I have no idea how to say this without sounding patronising, but did you know that Knick Knack did eventually finish drawing Chibi Silent Hill 2 after the long hiatus?

What is most annoying is, of course, I remember laughing at it, but then I am capable of recalling entire conversations with people except for that, "Yes, and my name is ---" bit. geh! (I only remember the last name because we saw it written down, I sadly admit.)

I did! I only went back and checked about a month ago, I think, but I danced gleefully. (You either did not sound patronising or I am oblivious to patronisation. Hooray?)

(I was just worried that you'd give me a strange look and say "...yes, Riona, I've known that for eight months. Everyone in the world knows it." I AM EXTREMELY SLOW AT REMEMBERING TO TELL PEOPLE THINGS.

I wanted to accompany this comment with a 'relieved' Silent Hill icon, but of course there is no such thing.)
