I am doing a meme.

As copied from [livejournal.com profile] thebaconfat:

When you see this, post a little weensy excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.

I am not prolific and I rarely finish anything, but instead of continuing to make excuses, I will shut up and post what I have.

Transformers/Top Gear Crossover: GT
Various parts of this can be found scattered across my journal. Some of them have been rewritten and some of them have been removed, and some of them have not changed at all. I'd like to put more, but this is all of the newer stuff I can get to right now.

"Please don't make me eject you."

"I'd like to see you try," Jeremy said, completely unconcerned and making every possible effort to ensure everyone else knew it.

Completely frustrated though he was, Mirage knew a challenge when he heard one. Without hesitation, he flung the door open, released the seat belt, and shifted just so.

Before he'd had time to register what was happening, Jeremy Clarkson found himself sprawled rather gracelessly on the ground. Mirage - for the first time in entirely too long - transformed, stood up, and waited for another sarcastic comment. When none came, he glanced down, only to find the man gaping and silent. Well, Mirage thought, faintly smug, that's probably a first.

Transformers Alternators/Smallest TFs crossover-of-sorts insane-fic
I have nothing to say that has not already been said about this, because I've posted this exact bit before, but this is the only portion I have typed so far. Sorry. (Yes, I still plan on placing this in the same fic-world as "GT.")

He wasn't quite sure what to make of the situation.

The sudden proximity of another had caused him to glance up from his work, but it was his visitor's appearance that had caused him to stop altogether.

The similarities were startling. His build was similar enough, though that didn't necessarily mean anything: the unfamiliar markings certainly detracted. Something about the way the other was moving, though, as he picked himself up from where he'd somehow fallen sprawled out on the floor...

But it didn't make any sense. Prowl scanned the room, wondering if this was just another prank, albeit one a bit more elaborate than most. Nothing else seemed obviously amiss. The other stretched a bit and started to look around, seeming a bit dazed, and as Prowl caught a glimpse of his face, the similarity struck again, too much to ignore this time.

"Jazz?" he finally asked. The mech turned and looked up at him expectantly. No, certainly no denying it now.

... Except that the last time Prowl had checked, Jazz had come up past his knees.

Final Fantasy XI: An Evening In Buburimu (cont)
Actually a continuation of a short piece I wrote a while back. I plan on changing the title once I can come up with something better.

This was it, Onai concluded. The goblin had been a warning to go home because he was way over his head and he should have listened. What had possessed him, to think that following the strange Hume was a good idea? They were all going to die.

Slowly, painfully, and messily, no doubt.

Out on the deck, Aniko - the warrior he'd met earlier - cheered wildly and raised her massive axe up into the air. It was a gloomy night, which was, she had cheerfully informed him, the best time for pirates to come and try to kill everyone on the ship. The massive vessel that had been trailing them for a while suddenly pulled up alongside. He whimpered.

The captain glanced over at him. "Never been aboard when a strike comes?"

Never been aboard. "No, sir."

Original Characters: Jade and Hotaru 1
Or so I'm guessing. I don't know what the context here is. This is literally the entirety of the word document. Did I even write this? It was one out from being in my writing folder, but...?

Sometimes, when she looked down at her own hands, she thought she shouldn't exist here, either. That was dangerous, though, and when she caught herself, she always hurried to the hall, or the street, or anyplace where the presence of others would remind her that this was real.

Jade and Hotaru, round 2
I know for certain that this one is about those two! Very rough. I was challenged to do this by Hotaru's creator after I sent Hotaru into Silent Hill. What, like it's my fault her character in slightly insane and fun to torment. Not that I've done it before or anything...

She was exactly where Hotaru had imagined; curled up in the worn brown chair with a book, next to a blazing fire. Her eyes were visible over the top of the cover, staring at the doorway. Waiting.

"Ms. Ellis asked us to run an errand for her," Hotaru offered in greeting.

"She'd better be paying for it," Jade returned, settling her gaze back to the book she held.

"Of course." Hotaru set the bag of groceries she'd brought in down on the counter. "Medical supplies to the town neat that dig on the western continent. I forget the name."

"Talsin," Jade supplied. "Though 'Dustbin' may have been more appropriate," she added absentmindedly as she turned a page.

Hotaru nodded as she hung her coat up. "You've been there?"

"Not recently." The edge in her voice said the conversation topic should be changed.

"I told her we'd be able to leave on the next boat for Arlington. That's in about two days."

""Have fun," Jade muttered, flipping another page with surprising hostility.

... whoo.

Complete tangent. I went to the toy store today and, okay, so they had no Transformers toys (this was not a surprise), but they do, apparently, have Transformers posters! Whoo! They carry one with the movie Autobots, one with the Movie Decepticons, and one with an assortment of the G1 Autobots (ala Dreamwave art), but they only had the Decepticon one. PURCHASED. Will have to check back for others, because... Posters with Transformers! Hooray!

.. I completely forgot to tell you I was expanding on that, didn't I? whoops! Well, uh, I am glad you like it so far!

It's going to mostly detail his actually getting to San d'Oria, but knowing my amazing ability to go off in completely the opposite direction of what I intended and my ability to ramble, he may only make it to Valkurm this time around.
