Where was I?
DID I EVEN MAKE ANY ENTRIES THAT WERE NOT FFXV-RELATED LAST YEAR???
Okay, there were a few in the beginning of the year. But then I was C O N S U M E D (and, spoilers, I was getting better but then EPISODE IGNIS HAPPENED AND NOW MY LIFE IS 24/7 SCREAMING ABOUT IDIOT BOYS AND THEIR STUPID GAME AND HOW MUCH I LOVE EVERYTHING AND ASDKJHSKJDFLDJGLKSMJLKSDLKNSKGBDLSA).
But ANYWAY what all did I gloss over in favour of existing in a haze of video game-induced despair (wow, thanks, escapism, not like I didn't need you more than usual last year) for like 8 months? (Okay not actually the entire reason I wasn't posting but augh: seriously, what the fuck, Square, you can't just - and - no - GRAH. But also they fixed it so most of my rage is just lingering resentment at this point. Assholes.)
Okay! In April, during which I was playing FFXV and screaming, and I think I mentioned it but MEH, Mom and I took the train out to Chicago to see Yo-Yo Ma perform! Mom is very excited about him! I like his work, too, and since I usually drag her along with me on my adventures, it seemed only reasonable that I accompany her on this trip to accomplish her dream of seeing him perform live. (He later performed locally so SHE WENT AGAIN! Yay, Mom!) We spent a lot of time wandering Chicago and went to the Field Museum to see Sue and I guess the other exhibits, too. We stayed in the uh. Haunted hotel. That has a name. Congress Plaza Hotel! Congress Plaza. The only spooky thing that happened was that whoever did the bathroom forgot to caulk the tub properly so every time you showered water got everywhere.
ALSO I LEARNED THAT SCHENECTADY (where we switched trains) IS LIKE. SUPER BORING. But they do have a cool book store, so that was okay.
And we flew home and Mom lost her phone in the airport BUT THEY FOUND IT and we were able to go back across the lake to get it. wheeee!
So that was April. Did anything happen in May? Dance recital, I messed up in the Bon dance but failed to care about it, and then I thought I beat FFXV but really it beat me. :( Also my brother first started talking about moving to Florida, which he has still not done. He a dumb boy. (Oof. So. He met a girl at work and thought she was PERFECT, 10/10 [his words, iol why], INSTANT INFATUATION, she went vegetarian, HE WENT VEGETARIAN, she went vegan, HE WENT VEGAN[!!!! MOST OF HIS CALORIES CAME FROM EGGS AND CHEESE???], she... was married, whoops! So never mind, haha, good thing he never said anything, except! SHE'S GETTING DIVORCED!! CHANCE! EXCEPT! She's moving to Florida! Woe! And so she did. And so he has been thinking about it since then, basically. He did at least finally tell her he had a crush on her in like September or something? Oof, though.)
JUNE I WENT TO YELLOWSTOOOONE WITHsourjellybeans and brother! IT WAS AWESOOOOOME and on day one at least I was SO SLEEP DEPRIVED and then also we hit road work two miles from town once and I nearly died I had to pee so bad. SOME PICTURES FOR YOU:

and then I came home and watching some asshole run over a baby fox, but i don't wanna talk about that it really fucked me up for a bit.
AND THEN THE SECOND FFXIV EXPANSION CAME OUT AND IT WAS AMAAAAAZING and I took a week off work to hit level 70 and run through the Main Story because rationing stuff out is nonsense and that's what patches are for anyway. (4.2 SOON SO EXCITE, hype hype hYPE TRAAAAAAIN)
AND UH. JULY? What happened i--- oh! Right. TFCon Toronto! BUT FIRST: Distant Worlds IV came out (yasssssss) and I managed to get the Noctis figure (YASSSSSSS) and also Mom made fun of Prompto for having bald armpits and I told her we couldn't be friends anymore. Aaand we went out on a boat for the fireworks on the 3rd! That was a lot of fun. ALSO. I had to get a new mp3 player and it's really hard to find ones that support a playlist feature! Which is THE ONLY POINT IN HAVING AN MP3 PLAYER SO WHO MADE THAT CALL?
Anyway, I started the trip to TFCon by FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS, this would have repercussions later. My roommate had decided that the middle of extreme humidity was the ideal time to steam-clean the one tiny patch of carpet in the apartment, so I stepped on it, unknowingly got my shoes wet, and then hit the stairs juuuust right and DOWN. I. WENT. Absolutely do not recommend.
Mom and I went a day earlier so we could EXPLORE TORONTO since we had a little bit of time there in 2016 and wanted to go back!! Also,squeemu was currently going to school in Toronto! And I managed to trick her and thebaconfat into attending TFCon! DEVIOUS!!! So Thursday Mom and I went poking around and then met up with Squeemu! Who showed us NEAT THINGS! Including this smug af horse, his name is Gaston. ALSO WE FINALLY GOT UNCLE TETSU'S CHEESECAKE AND STUFF AND oh my god so good we must get more when we go back this summer (as I am currently planning on hitting TFCon Toronto again).
And on Friday all FOUR OF US (because Baco arrived Thursday night) went around and we saw a HUSKY HOWLING IN TIME WITH AN AMBULANCE AND IT WAS ADORABLE hahaha huskies I love them, I will never own one.
What even happened at TFCon. I had trouble with my center of gravity. We ate dinner with Scott McNeil, who is a voice actor! You've heard his work. Plush shenanigans. Prompto finally befriended Swoop, but I must not have actually posted any pics online because I CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE UGH WTF SELF oh wait they're on Drive at least BUT NOT IN A FOLDER AAAAAAAUGH

Anyway I got home and figured out I've managed to jostle myself enough from falling down the stairs that I had vertigo. Unfortunately, I didn't figure that out until I was actually and absolutely unable to even sit up in bed and I was panicking and about two minutes from calling 911 before I managed to talk myself down and figure out what was going on. Man, looking at my tweets and texts to mom at the time I was sure downplaying THAT crisis.
August I took Mom to this for her birthday and we ate a bunch of amazing and delicious foods. And somewhere in here I decided I was kinda done with how JRo has been handling his TF comics series (I know MTMTE and LL are technically the same story but omg I miss MTMTE, it was so much better) and went on comic hiatus. I went back and read the last three and I'm Not Feeling It even MORE so uuugh. Maybe HE's the one who needs to go on hiatus, which is unfair and I will always love him for what he gave us in the first 40-odd issues at least.
Also the world went to hell with hurricanes in the second half of the month and mostly I sat around being anxious about all my friends being affected by them. That sucked.
September I GOT A NEW JOB WOOOO same place just different department, with my old manager. So now my old manager is my new and current manager and my former new manager is my old manager, lawl. My old department had been going to shit for a while now and my favourite coworker had already left for another department AND SO WHEN MY CHANCE CAME.....

uh. I went to TFCon DC at the end of September as sort of a last minute thing, I hadn't really been expecting to but VAWitch/Okami twisted my arm into it, and I was able to get a MTMTE trade signed (AS WELL AS A RECORDED APOLOGY) by JRo for Baco and Squeem, AND we watched the latest clusterfuck of a TF movie in the hotel room and y'all I was not drunk enough for that, holy gods.
Also I just found this great pic of Rana going bwuh?? on my Twitter scrolling.
What else, what ELSE, hmm, oh, I came to the somewhat uncomfortable realisation that I've been doing that thing I do where I get crushes and don't know it for months at a time, whoops. I got called out on one of them, which put the rest of it into immediate perspective. (I also came to the somewhat uncomfortable realisation that I might be poly, because that is definitely what I need on top of demi/panromantic asexuality.) (Not uncomfortable because it's necessarily bad, just, like, I'm 31, should I not have figured at least some of this out earlier? sdflgwd)

ANDsourjellybeans and brother came to visit ME! HERE! IN THIS DUMB LITTLE STATE! We went and bought SOCKS and ate our way around the state because food is delicious and usfdjlalkf it was so much fun and I'm so glad they were able to come out aaaa
ALSO IN NOVEMBER I said FUCK THIS FAMILY (OR AT LEAST A FEW SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS, ILY MOM NOT YOU) and RAN AWAY TO CANADA to spend Thanksgiving with Baco and Squeemu! THERE WERE VERY DELAYED FLIGHTS AND TORRENTIAL RAINS. Baco and I were forced to hole up in a hotel because it was like 1 am by the time my flight landed and a very long drive in the dark in the Biblical rain was just.... no.
There was A LOT OF BOYS (ESPECIALLY GLADIO) BEING IDIOTS and also running out of apartments in the dark of night to play Pokémon Go because LOOK IT'S NOT EVERY DAY FARFETCH'D COMES TO TOWN and Etsy IRL (which was a lot of fun but also hahaha money whoops) and video games and IT WAS ALSO SO MUCH FUN AND I AM SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO GO OUT AAAA
AND THEN EPISODE IGNIS CAME OUT IN DECEMBER AND LITERALLY SAVED THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME AND I HAVEN'T STOPPED SCREAMING SINCE HI I HAVE A PROBLEM
