(Is anyone reading this series? I don't really follow Robots in Disguise, except for when I see people in the discussion forums making too many vague references to it - so I only know the general gist of what happened recently, but More Than Meets the Eye is kinda like the best thing ever. EVEN WHEN IT'S BEING HORRIBLE.)

Yeah, I'm kinda afraid to get into either RiD or MTMTE for much that reason. 9,9

You can give RiD a total pass, I promise. It is not fantastic and what I do know of it I find frustrating.

But eeee MTMtE. It's not just good Transformers (though it's definitely some of the best we've ever had, in my opinion), it's good fiction. Oh my god it is just so, so fantastic. It focuses a lot on characters and their interactions, and everyone is just so wonderful, even the ones you kinda wanna punch in the face, and it is so well written and the art is usually really good, too, and also you can read JUST MTMtE and ignore RiD. You must give it a shot! YOU MUST! You have no idea what you're missing. Even if it is breaking my heart a little sometimes.

I'm most familiar with the G1 cast - first and second season. Does MTMTE even /have/ anyone in it I'd recognize? All I ever hear about from fandom-friends' posts are names I don't know. And it's being done by IDW Publishing. That . . . scares me, frankly. I've read through about half their stuff, and /heard/ enough about the crap they pulled in later stuff, and . . . ugh, yeah. OTL

Where would I even /find/ this stuff? Where do you read it? Or buy it to read? *is honestly that stupidly clueless, yes* (The IDW stuff I've read is from some massive compilation CD's someone put together from, like, EVERYTHING EVER...IDW, Dreamwave, even the old Marvel and Marvel UK stuff . . . so yeah, no idea where to find new material)

Perceptor and Ratchet! And Ratchet even features pretty heavily. First Aid. Red Alert. Sunstreaker has had a few appearances. Um. Trailbreaker/cutter, Hound, Pipes... A lot of appearances, anyway. There are also a couple season three folk (mostly Rodimus and Ultra Magnus), as well. But, yeah, the truth of it is, mostly Roberts took a bunch of nobodies (and invented a few new ones) and turned them into real people. And it is fantastic. Don't let it being by IDW put you off. I had given up on IDW completely until last year's BotCon, when I was introduced to MTMtE and fell hopelessly in love with it. (Did you know Prowl flips tables when angry? I did not. He is now forever known to me as TABLE FLIPPAH, because I love to mock the ones I love. ...oh, right, yes, Prowl occasionally cameos, but only as flashbacks.

OH MAN THERE IS A THREE ISSUE RUN BASICALLY DEDICATED TO STORYTELLING OF PRE-WAR CYBERTRON IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE IT)

I read my stuff on comixology (their MTMtE collection is right here), though you can also buy individual issues at most comic stores (or off the internet, since my local store is useless), or buy the paperback collections once they're released. (I get the paperbacks, too, because I love them and want to hold them in my hands.) If you're really curious but don't wanna shell out for them, I can lend you issues 1-12. :3? :3?
