gueeeesssss what!
FFXIV is one year old! AND IT IS STILL free-to-play! ... and still largely unplayable. Oh, goodness. It's sad, but hilarious. "A Misleading Anniversary", indeed.
I, meanwhile, have been entertaining myself by playing the shit out of Chrono Trigger. (ha... I've made it all these years without spoiling much of anything, and then earlier this week I accidentally had at least one huge one thrown at me. aaargh!) I guess I have declared this "the season for re/starting and finally beating all those games I've never got around to yet" or something? I wonder what will come next. (Or maybe I will want to replay Chrono Cross so I can fully appreciate all the nods! I have already spotted a couple, though I guess that's sort of in reverse.)
Also, someone, somewhere, with the authority to make it happen, finally had the genius idea of harnessing the frightening determination of internet gamers for good! With surprising results, sort of. I guess these people do not follow MMO communities too well, if a bunch of lunatics taking on and defeating something through to be nigh impossible is still a surprise. (Still, it's pretty awesome!)
Other exciting news is that I am going to see The Lion King again tonight! Yay! My mother and I went last Friday, and my roommates and I are all going to see it, too. Hopefully there are no ridiculously disrespectful gits sitting in front of me this time (though this time I won't wait so long to start kicking chairs, since that got some pretty good results). (SERIOUSLY, WOMAN, it's an hour and a half. TURN THE BLOODY PHONE OFF. You really, really don't need to check it every seven minutes. And if you do, maybe you shouldn't be in the movie in the first place. One of the employees came in a little over halfway through and told her to turn it off, and she did, for, like, maybe fifteen minutes? AND THEN IT WAS BACK ON AND - OH, GOSH, MY FOOT SLIPPED. Right up off the floor. As you do.)
AND! I guess they are finally officially releasing the Sailor V manga in English?! omg! And re-releasing all the Sailor Moon and, man, I was such a huge Moonie in my early teens, you have no idea. NONE. And it still has a spot in my heart, so I have possibly ordered the first volume of Sailor V. Possibly. ONLY MAYBE. And also this means all sorts of new Sailor Moon-related stuff is coming out, so I was discussing it all with
mysticeden (who was the one who clued me in), and blah blah blah new stuff, including playing cards! And I cannot think of Sailor Moon playing cards without flashing back to, er, reenactments of DragonBall Z battles as determined by games of Old Maid.
...I love that I live in a world where that sentence can even exist.
(It was my brother's fault.)

I am super glad it made you laugh! It is pretty ridiculous, but it is probably one of my favourite memories.
