Oh no almost out of days.
What am I going to do with myself when I run out of meme? I will keep coming here to post and not have anything at all to say.
30 Days of Video Games
Day 26 - Best voice acting.
So, since I don't understand much Japanese and so play the English versions of games originally released in Japanese, and since dubs, no matter how excellent, still always manage to have some awkwardness, I am just going to write them all off, even though this is asking about voice acting and not overall dub quality. I AM CHOOSING TO INTERPRET THEM AS BEING THE SAME THING.
I am also immediately disqualifying anything that doesn't have cutscenes. Or, uh, proper spoken dialogue, if that didn't go without saying. (I'm… sure the voice acting in Ecco is amazing, but I do not actually speak dolphin, despite any and all evidence to the contrary.)
This leaves me with a very short list. I like short lists.
So, for best voice acting, I'm going to go with the Jak series (counting Daxter but ignoring The Lost Frontier)! They got a bunch of really awesome people to work on it, and they did a great job. The pacing is sometimes a little weird, but that is not the fault of the voice actors.
I was going to write more here, but I totally lost track of time and now it's late and I'm tired and still feeling pretty gross, so instead I will link you with a video of some of Daxter's reactions when you accidentally kill Jak. FUN!
Gotta get up early and run a bunch of errands before work tomorrow. aaaaa stress.
