Hey so! Those thunderstorms I mentioned last night! Well, my brother took my mother to the airport this morning at 5 am, and all was well and good until we got a call around, what, maybe 7 am? Mom's flight had been delayed, severely. Because of the storms.
The plane, when it had come in earlier, had needed to circle for three hours because of the storms. It couldn't land! (This is not entirely true, just for anyone wondering. They were actually delayed from taking off for three hours. It would have been murder to turn planes loose into that storm.) So when it came time to take off again, the crew hadn't been to ground long enough (regulations, you know), so the flight was delayed for three hours. Mom could've taken it, but she would have missed her connecting flight, so tomorrow Sam gets to get in the car and drive her out again. I volunteered, but hey.
The Delta Airlines people didn't tell the passengers the flight had been delayed, either! So after waiting for... I don't know, a while, Mom apparently nearly started a riot by standing up and shouting, "What about Cincinnati?!" after listening to boarding calls for lots of other places.
But hey. Hopefully (IT IS STORMING AGAIN RIGHT NOW) flights will be able to take off on time tomorrow morning.

ha, this means the trend of EVERYTHING POSSIBLE going wrong on the ground in regards to my family and flights to California. (Once, we were stuck on the plane on the runway for two or three - maybe more - hours while they repaired one of the engines.)
