Paranoiaaaaa.

I was reading a fic last night! Transformers, picked it up browsing one of those rec-communities, or maybe [livejournal.com profile] tfiwts, I don't remember (doesn't matter), anyway. Someone gets a car, weird things happen, DECEPTICON CAR CHASE OH NO THE CAR ISN'T RESPONDING NOW WHAT oh it's a robot and - I sit back and go, oh my god I know I've never read this but I can't prove it and what if someone accuses me of copying it?! It's just a weird fluke, I swear!. These things happen sometimes! THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY WAYS THESE SCENES CAN PLAY OUT, ANYWAY! But it was published a almost a full month before mine! And I don't think I ever posted any of that scene prior to the finished story because I was always stressed about it! AAAUGH!

A few hours later, I remember - "GT" went up in 2007, not 2008. durrr....

Still, that was a fun, what, fifteen minutes I got to spend in a state of panic, wondering how I'd defend myself should the subject ever come up. MY BRAIN. ~__~ (The fact that the first movie also goes similarly has, for some reason, never made me freak out.)

In other news, I'm going to try to make beef stew tonight.

That happened to me once, except I was actually accused of copying somebody else's fic. 'Cept, like, I didn't even know this chick existed until her rabid fans spammed my fic and profile with OMG YOU STOLE HER IDEA and SHE DID THIS FIRST. Ironically, it was in the Transformers fandom, too.

Wow, really? Geez. I don't know if I'd freak out or get angry if anyone ever accused me. I mean, yeah, I know that plagiarism is a Bad Thing that should not be done, but sometimes it really is nothing. Or the collective unconscious striking again.

(I ... don't remember seeing that, but I can't tell if it's just brain disconnect going on or what. Which one were they accusing you of copying?)

That's what I told her. I told her I didn't even know who she was until I got all this blame, and that it was possible for more than one person to come up with the idea, considering it was pretty generic and totally nothing special.

The fic in question is this (http://second-death.livejournal.com/23310.html) one. Actually, it's not even the whole fic, it's the shower scene.

.... bwaha, really? XD I mean - no offense meant here but I can see how it could be interpreted negatively - it's a shower scene. There are only so many ways you can write a generic shower scene, and I am pretty sure they have all been done already. (SAYS THE WEIRDO WITH NO INTEREST IN SUCH THINGS but that's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it.)

That's what I told her! And it was only after I told her I hadn't even known she existed until her dumbass friends started spamming my pages and accusing me of shit that she let up. But, seriously. Over a shower scene? *shakes head*

That really is ridiculous/ly hilarious. XD

And, I mean, it sucks that they accused you in the first place (spamming is not awesome), but I'm still giggling over it.
