Barn Death

EDIT: I've deleted all of these images because I needed room in my photobucket account, but I do have them all saved on my computer, so if anyone wants to see any of them, just let me know and I'll upload stuff again.

Thursday morning, shortly after my mother and brother departed for New York and my father had left for work, the man who owns the apartments next door came by to announce that they were going to be knocking the old barn behind the apartments down Friday. I left a note for Dad to (hopefully) see and finished throwing myself out the door to go to work.

Why do people always come to the door to talk to me about random things moments before I need to leave for work? How do they know?

Dad didn't see the note, so we don't have any images of the barn standing (at least, not strictly of the barn. I'm quite sure it's in a few images we've got around somewhere). But, sure enough, yesterday some guys showed up and knocked the barn down. It was actually pretty neat to watch. I took a bunch of pictures and videos to show Mom and my brother, but I am also going to post them here if anyone wants to watch a barn get knocked to the ground.

Just a note, Dad had been watching Stargate: Atlantis before the crews arrive, and didn't bother to turn it off before he went out. My camera picks up sound, so in several of the videos, you can hear either that or commercials playing in the background. So that's what the very odd background conversations are about.

Also, some of these videos are very short. My batteries were half-dead, so it kept cutting off.

I don't know what is wrong with me! But I find the wood-pile smashing oddly cute. Hee. Smush. Smaaaash.

They spent a bit of time debating how to pull down the back wall without crashing it into either the apartments next door or the store behind it.

Dad and I have a brief chat. The television continues to talk to itself, about identity theft.

After this, the big black truck-thing that pulled through one of the videos turned up again and blocked the view. They piled all of the wood into the truck and drove it away forever. Goodbye, Barn. We will miss you.

After they finished the barn off, Dad decided Atlantis really is not that good and was looking for something to watch. I may have thrown Life on Mars at him. He may be extremely into it and halfway through the series as of now. SUCCESS. Now I just need to get Mom to watch it before whenever they start showing the adaption here and then we can all pick at what they changed together. Yay.

Edit:
hee! His current theory is that Sam'll get all the answers he needs and be able to wake up, but that he loves Annie so he'll stay. And then they'll get married and Maya's their kid. (Yes, he also thinks that Sam's in a coma. He is probably going with some sort of "two places at once" theory or something similar. He's gone back to watching it or I'd ask for clarification there.)
