Not to jinx it, but...
Cat seems okay so far. He was brought back home yesterday (he was stressing and the vet said it'd be better for him to be somewhere familiar) and was walking mostly normally, my brother said. One hind leg was still a little "off" - I guess he had a limp or something. Anyway! Very glad for that. The cat's owners have been calling here a lot the last few days, understandably. Stupid embolism, ruining their vacation and nearly killing their cat.
You know, really, I do like the recent Transformers movie. It was entertaining. Nothing huge or deep, no really great plot or anything, but it was fun. And full of explosions, which are also fun.
I'm not so fond of the swarms of fanfiction being thrown onto the internet, because most of it doesn't seem to have been looked at twice and is kind of horribly out of character at times, and because the movie-verse is not G1 so could you please stop treating it as such? You want to put Sideswipe and Sunstreaker and Wheeljack and Prowl into the movie-verse? Fine! That's fine! I really like those characters, so I can completely understand where you're coming from! (What I cannot understand is why other characters aren't getting more love. WHERE IS PERCEPTOR? TRACKS? THE ENTIRE DECEPTICON ARMY?)
You can even feel free to give them similar personalities, or some of the same traits! But please... I don't want to be reading something and honestly think it's G1-verse only to then see a name like "Lennox" or "Sam" and realize, whoops, this is going by movie canon.
Also. Yes. Ironhide's comment about his foot rusting that one time was amusing. I can see where you might want to play with that a bit. It doesn't mean you need to have him saying everything everywhere is going to cause him to rust all over. Let's not turn him into a one-joke character.Come on, he made way more cracks about his cannons, anyway. I take this back. Stop with the cannon jokes, as well.
Actually, the movie's just left theaters here. Either yesterday or today, I'm not sure what day they changed the lineup, but it's only at the drive-in now. Oh, well. I had probably seen it enough times. What? It's a fun movie.
Was in "town" today. My watch band broke - again! It broke while I was in Michigan; the pin that holds the band onto the bottom of the watch face fell out. We stopped at a WalMart in Canada on the way home and they fixed it free, since they carry Timex watches there, so Mom and I went to WalMart again and got my watch fixed... again. This is going to be a running battle between us, isn't it watch? God, please don't do this for the next ten years.
Anyway, Toys "R" Us is right next door, so after getting my watch put back together (and dancing happily as I put it back on) (and checking the toy department and being amazed that there were literally no Transformers toys), we headed over there. They had some Classics (wave 2) and an odd assortment of Cybertron stuff (including Primus, who I've not seen on shelves for about a year now), but they also had the new Voyager-class leaders, so now I finally have Movie Optimus and Movie Megatron. Hooray!
Perhaps one of the best indications of changing weather patterns occurred yesterday. We had a tornado warning. What?
Vermont. Had a tornado warning. WHAT?
Also, there's a possibility of snow on the mountains tonight. *boggles*
I am considering buying a notebook! Not for writing, I have about ten thousand of those. No, no, it is a letter notebook! No one wants me to write letters to them, so I have resorted to writing them to myself. I do not mail them, obviously, it's just that I really like writing letters but have no one to send most of them to. I am aware of how utterly pathetic this makes me. Oh, well.
Saw again somewhere that Life on Mars is going to be adapted by David E. Kelley. Not too unhappy with that, since he does some good stuff, actually. Still, it'll be really, really weird for Sam and Gene to not be John Simm and Philip Glenister.
