"Aaugh!"
My brother has decided it's time we try and make our mother play Final Fantasy VII again, apparently. This time he's got it on the computer, though, so there's a better chance of her progressing anywhere at all.
(Last attempt: late 2004. I think she made it through the first reactor, but then the PlayStation was moved back upstairs and... that was the end of that.)
Tonight she started up again and is saved on the train. No, there's not a save point there. She's saved there, anyway.
The scorpion-machine in the reactor didn't kill her, amazingly enough. Barret pulled through with, I dunno, 30 HP. She kept attacking while the tail was up. My brother told me I wasn't allowed to give her hints, so I stood behind her making dramatic NO!!! gestures and grabbing my head in dismay while she kept selecting Attack.
But she made it out alive (baaarely) and bought a flower and even made it to the train without incident. I wasn't around to witness it last time, but apparently her battle capabilities are drastically improved since last time, which is a bit frightening. ATB > My mother. She panics.
I can't tell if the album version of this song is different or if my laptop's sound dynamics are just that drastically different from my stereo's. If they are different, I'm so disappointed. (WHY DO THEY EVER DO THAT? IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY. ADSFKJHMGDFSNJ STUPID WORLD.)
... also, hahah, trippy, it just started playing on the radio, too. No wonder it seemed there was an odd echo.
... ..... oh god I must be even more exhausted than I thought. I just tried to put the headphone jack into my ear.
Anyway, first batch of letters will be sent soon, since I am almost finished writing them - I want to mail them all at the same time. (...yes, there are plans for multiple batches. How can I swarm the PO if I'm only sending a few letters once? As such, the offer is still open) Maybe they'll even start arriving at some point? We'll just see, won't we?
(I'll make an announcement when I do mail the things, so people know to watch for it.)

Then I agree I hate when artist do that as well. I've actually encountered that problem recently myself. I loved the 'live' version of a song (still professionally video recorded) and then the 'final version' of the song isn't all that good... Like almost at all.
I shall assume the saving on the train is a special computer type trick.
Headphone jack + ear = bad. Don't do that!

(... actually, my father used to play Sonic 2 when our Genesis was set up on the television in his room, and without prompting from us small children. Though he never got beyond the first act of Chemical Plant - the second level.)
It even annoys me when they edit out verses (have you heard the radio edit of Sara Bareilles' "Love Song"? They cut out the whole "promise me that you'll leave the light on / to help me see with daylight, my guide, gone. / 'cause I believe there's a way you can love me because I say - " and then they cut back in, and I twitch every time. And they do this only on some stations, which confuses me so badly.) ... And it's always the version you don't like or just like less that they make available! It's stupid and unfair and it annoys me (COULD YOU TELL??).
No, I'm sure if I try hard enough, I can plug this into my brain. I dunno what good it'd go, maybe give people a direct line in on my thoughts (poor fools)... Yeah, that was kind of a worrying moment.
