So. My worst fear has been confirmed.
Spiders can teleport and/or phase through things.
I am sitting in my room. I look up. There was a spider on the wall. Crud.
It runs up against the window frame - and this is one of the places where the frame actually goes to the wall. In a lot of places in my house, there's a small gap between the wall and the frame that spiders (and, okay, other things) can slip through. But not here. There's nowhere for this spider to go except to the side and straight down.
I grab a CD case - it's small, hard, slim, and I can hold the far end while running the spider down with the other. I put the case against the wall and run it straight up while watching the spider. It doesn't move.
BAM!
I pull the case away and look at it. No spider.
I look at the wall. No spider.
...I look at the floor - there is nothing on the floor around this area, so there's nowhere for it to be hiding.
NO SPIDER.
It's just vanished. DISTRESS. SO MUCH DISTRESS.
This sort of thing has happened to me before. Have I mentioned my hatred of Parson spiders? But before there was always somewhere they could have gone. I always assumed they were falling down to the floor very rapidly because nothing else made sense. Not that a little black spider suddenly falling to the floor and disappearing without me being able to see it as it descends makes much sense, either. BUT NO. THEY JUST DISAPPEAR.
I am so unhappy right now, you have no idea.
Been keeping the Choco-Watch updated. Leveled Ninja last night and remembered just why I was avoiding partying with it. Awful. AWFUL.
I have an awful plot bunny that I am thankfully unable to write do to an inability to come up with crack pairings. Aniko is, for once, not aiding the plot (haha!) because she can't come up with crack pairings, either. I feel so free~
Or I would except I think Mirage is back again.
LIST OF THINGS I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH RIGHT NOW:
- Spiders
- Mirage
- Schoolwork
- Making lunch
And, finally - maybe the abusive significant other/marriage comparison was a little extreme, but my father appears to have stopped trying to convince me to go "make up with" someone I terminated a friendship with. I guess he's just missed how happier I've been since breaking that off. It's kind of amazing how much stress that whole stupid mess was causing me. I should have stopped listening to people telling me to keep it going years ago.

Spiders are like little vampires with eight legs and without the possibly-turning-into-bats thing, right? Maybe...?!

THAT'S WHY THE BARN IS ALWAYS FULL OF BATS AND SPIDERS ISN'T IT?
