Operation CR Chamber?
First, though, whoa, is LJ's clock off. What is up with that?
Anyway, I messed around with 'Bolt a bit on Saturday and Sunday, but since I had looong work days, I was mostly too tired to do anything. So, recap. That the little piece his robot head is on gets caught on the back of the indent holding it, making it impossible to put him into beast mode (he was purchased in 'bot mode) without first removing his head. It's extremely difficult to swap the little plastic plate around even when the head isn't in the way.
I thought at first maybe the joint was just stiff, as that's happened with a few of my older toys. After flipping it back and forth (sometimes with the aid of pliers) for several hours, that idea was scrapped.
Mom thought that maybe the body was too tight and suggested I loosen the screws a bit. ...Sure, whatever. Didn't seem likely, but she was convinced it could help, so I tried it anyway. It didn't do anything, other than bring me perilously close to disassembling the entire thing (me + exhaustion + nifty little tools to play with = disaster waiting to happen).
Next she suggested using a dry lube on the joint. We didn't have any, so today while she was out running errands she picked up some. Again, this didn't seem like it'd work, because it's not the actual joint. The head-holding piece thing (I love my technical jargon. It's so precise) was catching on the back. Whatever. We tried that, and nothing happened. Then, then she looked at what I was pointing out as the problem and went off and grabbed a file. It still needs a little work, but you can at least flip the tab around completely without needing to fetch pliers to grab at the plastic with.
I don't know what I'm going to do with this thing when I'm done. No one I know likes Silverbolt except for my brother (who already has the figure) and my friend. The one I play Silent Hill with? She has the Universe figure, and I'd offer this one to her, but, well, haven't heard from her since mid-August. I don't even know how to contact her! Good to know she values me as a friend.
Hng. *pokes Silverbolt across the table, one inch at a time*
Feeling ill. There's a bug going around and I've caught it. Nose is stuffed up, throat is sore, voice comes and goes as it feels like it. The Ow doesn't help the situation. Stupid body. Should get myself neutered or something, but I know they don't like doing that. After all, I may want to have children someday! Rather adopt and not have to deal with being unable to move for a day because of cramps, thanks.
