This Is Not My Daddy's Porsche
I spent a good twenty minutes following a black Porsche 924 S on my way into town for classes this afternoon. It had a rim around the plate that told everyone close enough to read it that it was not the driver's "daddy's" car. I was amused. (And, er, also rather surprised. Pretty car versus State of Much Road Salt. Though I guess now that the weather's warmer people are taking their nice cars out of lockdown.) It was a very pretty car!
It did not make up for the announcement in English class that we had to go an extra week on account of the teacher missing class due to her brother dying. (Apparently he was some well-known reporter or something.)
I am so frustrated I could grind my teeth. In fact, I think I will. *grar* I really do not like this class. At least the work is all done. ...and I do feel bad for the teacher. I like her fine (despite what the rant I posted about her the other day may imply), I just don't like the class.
But on to better things. New Transformers comic!
ahahahaha I knew it. The mech's cracked. To be fair, we at least already knew about the total insanity from the MySpace page that Nick Roche (the story's author/illustrator) set up for him.
Was right about Outback, too, sadly. That's too bad, really. (The part where Kup listens to his joke is... really kind of depressing, actually.)
Also, I become attached to characters entirely too quickly, I suspect, because I was saddened by the fate of the first guy we saw. You know, the one who was only clear in maybe four panels and who had all of two lines of dialogue. Yeah. Him.
Still, despite suspecting what was going on throughout the whole thing, it was really rather creepy. The art style probably helped a little, and the coloring. (It's great, actually. The style changes depending on the location. Up in space, everything looks normal, but then we go planetside and it gets kind of weird. Fitting. And awesome.)
And, eee! Perceptor! So happy! Hooray!
I didn't recognize the lone survivor-in-rad-armor, but apparently it is Siren. Don't quote me on that, though.
Also, Springer! I really like all the Wreckers, but I really like Springer a lot. Probably because of all the screen time he gets in G1's season 3, but still.
And also, Trailbreaker! Man! We never see him! That's so awesome! And his entrance is so great! Heya, crazy old guy! I'm just gonna show up outta nowhere and ask for a quart of "ener-juice" now.
But, er, poor Kup! On the one hand, I hope they get his brain back to something resembling sanity. I like Kup, and I'm not sure how they'd be able to continue with him as he is. Of course, that he's getting a spotlight at all is fairly optimistic, right? All the other spotlight stars are being worked into the main story line.
On the other, then he'd eventually find out what really happened on that planet, and that'd... that'd be sad. That'd be hard to face.
I wonder how many teams were sent down. Really, how many were killed?
I'm curious as to what Prowl meant by that, "I'm not the one in denial about my past," line, though. I liked that whole exchange, actually. ("Autobot High Command isn't in the business of supporting suicide, Springer." ha! Prowl, you are kind of an overly blunt jerk sometimes, but you are also very, very amusing. Never stop. Ever. Also, don't die in this continuity. But ha, Springer gets you back!)
(Though, er, I'm not sure if we were supposed to, but I kind of came away with the impression that Springer's a less-than-stellar leader, just because of how willing he was to throw other mechs to their deaths just to rescue Kup. I mean, that's a good thing on one hand, but on the other... Though he did question it, himself. Augh, I don't know.)
Also, first mention of Sideswipe. I am slightly more happy than I perhaps should be about that.
This whole issue was actually just great, all around. I have no complaints. None. That... that may not be saying much, coming from me, but seriously, this is a great comic.
Escalation 6 comes out next Wednesday. I am so excited for it! Though then they take a break from the main storyline, or so it looks like.
((Edit:
Under the cut because it's still Transformers related. It even involves Springer! The cover for BotCon's been released. It is pretty.))
People keep telling me that they think I am amusing when they give me feedback on my presentations. This surprises me.
There are frogs making noise outside! Yay.
Also. Am cleaning keyboard. It is amazing how well some of the keys I've cleaned are now working.
Edit:
Thrust got new wings. I am more in love with his paint job. (The wings do look lovely, though!)
