I do think this time skip worked out pretty well. Like sure no one looks older (which is fine no judgement for not making more models) but Clive's interactions with the other people in the hideaway have changed in ways that do a good job of showing time has passed?
I knew there were multiple periods of time and I was kinda nervous considering how XV handled their time jump (which is to say: BADLY. Next time skip thebeards new models and stick with keeping your story consistent, guys).

NOW ONWARD TO ROSALITH, which is full of assholes and criminals, and maybe still some innocent citizens, to be determined.

Yeah, there are no actual status effects? If you get hit by something that would normally give you a status effect, you just... curl up in the fetal position for a bit. It's kinda like how elements don't seem to actually matter except in story-specific bits.
