DAY FOURTEEN: unintentionally hilarious

Today the question is this: Favorite of your most recently played video games?

Today is Day Fourteen. 14. XIV. If you will.


GUYS I HAVE A HILARIOUS AND HORRIBLE CONFESSION TO MAKE. I have pretty much only been playing my MMOs for the last, like, year. Because I've only bought one new game and switching the monitor from the tower to the PS3 is, like, so much work or something (and, frankly, I'm a bit terrified of playing Lightning Returns because it has a time limit or ... something? And I don't wanna get it wroooong. SOMEONE REASSURE ME). And also I haven't really been playing XI lately.

A large part of the reason I've stuck with FFXIV so diligently is mah boys. ONION, my Free Company (a group of players who all share a chat channel and also a house these days), is full of hilarious and lovely people. We have a voice chat channel and I like to hang out in it. Maybe they are awful when I am not around, I don't know. But we had someone awful (like, heavy breathing at me and all) for a bit, and he got kicked. Not even by me! By someone else who was like, dude, you're a loser and that's not cool.

Guys.

The other night when I fell asleep and the cat woke me up and I put my headphones back on, they were talking about LAUNDRY. WASHING MACHINES AND DRYERS. A pack of male video game nerd talking about gd laundry at 2 in the morning. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I cannot even articulate.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I do really love XIV itself. And I kind of really like being on top of a game, whereas with XI I have always lagged behind quite a lot. The NPCs are great, whoever translates it obviously has a lot of fun. HILDIBRAND. And it is very pretty.

But I think most of all I really love hanging out with my fellow ONIONs. They are hilarious.

I AM HERE TO REASSURE YOU ABOUT LIGHTNING RETURNS. But I am also here to say 'play it on Easy'. (I read this article recommending Easy Mode before I first played the game, and I'm glad I did.) Easy Mode makes it easier to get EP, which you can use to activate Chronostasis, which stops time for a while. The battles are still challenging enough, in my opinion, but you can take away some of the stress of the time limit.

What the hell? I'm glad he got kicked, and that the other people are great.

Oh, wow, okay, thank you! I usually go for Normal for my first playing through of things, but that sounds like a bad idea with this game. Time penalty just for escaping battle? Yikes! D:

HE WAS GROSS. Like, he started out normal enough, and then he just got weirder and creepier (and of course I was like, well maybe he's just playing around, hahaha...?) and then one night he logged into TS completely drunk and that was just horrific. Fortunately, other people (with whom I had frequently complained about him) decided they'd also had enough of him, and out he went. :3


(yeah, haha, I added it as an afterthought and then was too lazy to edit the entry to remove it. ^^;)
