Today was a bizarre day for my emotional state, and it all came to an annoying and embarrassing peak when I starting crying in the break room at work after clocking out. A customer bitched me out in the very last minutes of my shift over crap I have no control over (of course), but I totally would've made it if I hadn't then bumped into the closing manager upstairs, who asked if I was headed out and if things all looked okay in my department and I was all wavery-voiced and pathetic when I answered.

Partially relating to the bizarre emotional state of the day, I thought of another character I could've used for the Day 05 ("Game character you feel you are most like / wish you were more like") mash-up. I do not feel entirely comfortable posting it up here for anyone to see, but if anyone is curious, you can e-mail or otherwise non-instant message me and I will (probably? Maybe? I promise nothing. It is an odd situation) respond there.

Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you.

DIRGE OF CERBERUS. (Look, I used the real title!) Anyone who's played it knows why. Anyone who hasn't? …don't. Just... Just don't. (Honestly, the story, itself, was not terrible*, but some of the backstory they introduce… ugh. Basically, if you never want to have any sort of respect for or even appreciation of the characters of Vincent and/or Lucrecia ever, ever again? THIS IS HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. Jesus, Square.)



If this choice is a surprise to you, I do not even know what to tell you, beyond that you clearly have not been paying much attention.

... man, you miss all the excitment typing up posts, don't you? Something about Osama Bin Laden being found and dead. Now if only this meant we could all move on with our lives... (Not to say I'm not glad if he has actually been found and is dead, but I am so sick of this whole thing. I mean, it's been almost ten years. I have friends/relatives who've been over there or who are over there now, I've got a few classmates who've been killed and how do you move on from your child/friend/partner dying like that? But... I'm tired of it. I just mean, I want it to be over and done with, not that ... THIS IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE A STATEMENT ABOUT ANYTHING, just, grah. I give up.)

I keep thinking about playing it. Not seriously but when I come across it in a gamestop for $5 I think about it, then laugh and walk away.

And yeah.. this whole thing is odd. My day today was weird enough and then this news. Also know a lot of people who have gone over.. this whole thing needs to be over. Can we not be in a war?

For $5, it would be worth it, just for the WTF hilarity. Just don't think about it or try to take it seriously. I mean, gameplay-wise, it's not terrible...? But don't pay more than 5 for it. Maybe someday when you have time, if you would like, I will loan you my copy.

I would very much like to not be in a war anymore! We're undoubtedly going to see some kind of reaction to it, too, which is ugh.
