I have a job for you.
A VERY QUICK GLANCE AROUND REVEALS I HAVE THINGS I SHOULD REPLY TO BUT RIGHT NOW I REALLY NEED TO BE ASLEEP (OOPS) SO INSTEAD I AM WRITING A QUICK ENTRY AND THEN HOPEFULLY PASSING RIGHT OUT.
I am having horrible writer's block but want desperately to do something with any of my characters. DOES THAT MEAN IT IS LETTER TIME? YES, IT MIGHT. OKAY COOL! WHO WANTS A LETTER? But I can't come up with anything to write about.
So I have a mission for anyone who would like a letter from me. It's kind of vague and with multiple options, and depending on what you pick (and my mood), you will get something written either in-character or as an illustrated (primarily with stick figures) adventure story, but if you really want one or the other, you can mention that. (Adventure types will, by necessity, be longer.)

READ THIS PARAGRAPH: I can't be bothered to rewrite this entry at the moment, but mostly since my brain is working again (for the moment, anyway), I just need to know you want a letter. And your address. If you want a specific style of letter or a letter from a specific person, that is fine, and these are some of your choices. Pick one, or just make something up! (Or, if you do not have any preference, or if there is one type you'd rather not receive, please let me know that!)
Option 1
Go to the FFXI wiki. Pick something - anything - that looks interesting. You'll probably have the best luck under the "Exploring Vana'diel" tab, though "Other Activities" and the storyline parts of "Battles & Storyline" also have some neat stuff. Heck, you can just pick an area and I'll just wander you around it. By "I" I mean, Hisime, or possibly but probably not Ayarei and/or Kihara. This one is almost guaranteed to be an adventure-type, which means I need a vague idea of how to represent you (in case I decide to step up slightly from STICK FIGURES WHEE), so you can pick a face from any race (Hume, Elvaan, Tarutaru, Mithra, Galka, females are the top row on the first three, Mithra are all female, Galka are all gender neutral but use male pronouns) or just make something up (SHOULDER-LENGTH CURLY RED HAIR AND SQUARE GLASSES WITH A CHECKERED DRESS AND A HOODED JACKET or something I don't know). Or, if I know what you look like, you can just tell me to go with that. (I can also just come up with random stuff if you don't want to pick anything.) (And they are not always adventure-letters. Yes! Sometimes they are just letters! So if you care one way or the other...) You can also pick my FFXIV character, Rana! But I can't link you to a good wiki to poke around, because there is not one.

makeme_jade and shutup_okame, or check out some of the stuff under this tag, or at least this entry (keeping in mind that some of that information is out of date), and decide, sure, you really want communication with them, even though one isn't entirely sane and the other is kind of antisocial, occasionally to the point of violence. Since Jade interacts so poorly, this is more likely to be an actual-letter type, but I could still try an adventure-type. Sadly, I do not have their world map scanned, so no real requesting here other than, "I really don't/want to be in the city/in the wilderness/on a boat" or whatever other vague thing.
Option 3 I keep trying to close everything with /a and it keeps not working....
Pick anything I've written (NOT THAT I HAVE MUCH OF ANYTHING POSTED SHUT UP) (if you're familiar with any of my unposted works, you can, of course, pick any of those, as well) and maybe a timeframe and I'll write something from one of the characters set during(/before/after) it. You can request a character, but I don't know that I'll be able to promise that one, just because I can't work well with some of the characters I've written. I will probably not attempt to disguise my handwriting, so it will still be my illegible scrawl, but who knows, I may be feeling especially bored when I sit down to write it. Don't expect it, though, or you'll mostly end up disappointed.

THIS ONE I CAN REALLY PROMISE NOTHING FROM but if none of the above sound remotely interesting but you really, really want a letter, pick a character from anything (this includes my original characters not already listed, though I can count on one hand the number of people who know any of them, but if you're desperately curious, pick a number between 1 and 9. The only guy on the list is the 9. There are others, but those are the ones I feel up to handling right now. Anyway, pick a number and I'll go with the corresponding character) (I'll let you know if I'm not familiar/enough with whoever you pick, if you chose someone unlisted) and I will try to write something from them. If I can't manage something in-character, it will end up being me rambling at you, probably about said character and their canon. Or just ask for something else completely. Or you can just say that you do not care what and leave all the specifics up to me. OPTION FOUR IS THE "EVERYTHING ELSE" CHOICE, WITH SPECIFICATIONS ALLOWED.

You want a letter from me. I can do that, too. It will still probably include demented stick figures, though. (I like them.)
Obviously if you want a letter I need your address, though. Just, you know, a reminder. If I had a scanner, I'd completely be willing to write one up and scan it in and e-mail or post it, but, alas, no such luck. I know I have an address for some of you, but I'm not sure where everyone is at the moment. As such, comments are screened.
