I've discovered rather recently that when I'm sick, I tend to look much worse than I feel. I was informed Thursday evening that I looked half-dead Wednesday evening, when I only had a bit of a sore throat (just before the voice-loss set in). (My voice came back Saturday, midmorning.) Today, when I am just severely congested, Mom greeted me by informing me that I look awful. If I wanted to, I could probably abuse this and get out of a lot of things. Too bad I like school and schoolwork.

I know a lot of people tend to blame cold meds for their loopiness when they're ill, but I find I am far loopier without them. I usually don't use them, actually, but I don't know what that says about me, other than that I hate cold medicine. I came downstairs to make some tea and the kettle was sitting in a skillet on the stove. I laughed for five straight minutes. That's not how it works! Also, I ramble a lot. I have cut this entry down to about a fourth of its original length because no one really wants to see my utterly bizarre cold-induced ramblings, or at least no sane person does.

I have 55 vocab flashcards (shut up, they're required) from chapter one alone. I am going to go through so many index cards in the next few months.

Edit:
Chapter two, I've got 166. And I alphabetized them, going backwards because I cannot work A to Z right now for some bizarre reason. I told you, my brain gets even weirder than usual when I'm ill.
