ANKLE AMPUTATION IN FIVE...

I really do consider it when it does this crap.


SO YESTERDAY WAS MY BIRTHDAY I am 24, Aniko informs me that this makes me old. Eh?

I woke up at 4:30 am when my ankle decided it hated me and wanted to cause agony. So I had some painkillers. ... yum. And then I tossed and turned fitfully for the rest of the night/morning! Until I gave up and crawled out of bed! I had to be at work at 11:30, and of course it was Sunday, and the buses may as well not run at all on Sunday for all the good the bus route does me, so at 10:30 I took a few more Advil and started walking.

Things were uneventful until 12, 12:30? When I just crashed. Probably fatigue? I'd had breakfast, I don't know. My entire body (most noticeable in my hands, though) started to shake, and I felt queasy and weak. Had to go on my break. Work was mostly calm after that, aside from us being out of pretty much everything. The only bread we had was french bread. THAT WAS IT! The entire bread display, the entire roll table, the entire bread table - ALL EMPTY. So, yeah, that was fun.

"Fortunately" is the wrong word to use here, but the store manager on duty didn't particularly care! Because he was dead exhausted! Because he'd spent the last three days in the hospital! Apparently an adult snowboarder ran over his young son and broke his leg in three places. Awesome! WAY TO GO, SNOWBOARDER. So, poor guy's been stuck in the hospital, and the store manager's been there, too. And was going back as soon as he finished working. And is probably there now.

My ankle was actually up AGAIN, so when it was time to clock out, I was so unbelievable happy to see Grozoth (for lack of a better alias, there is his FFXI one...) and his girlfriend and another guy there to pick me up thaaat....

I completely forgot that Mom had called me the night before to tell me she'd be coming to pick me up.

Fuuuuck.


So we get back to my apartment and I've taken YET MORE PAINKILLERS and we're eating the "ghetto cake" Groz had made (it doesn't blood 'port, so it can't be that ghetto) (it does look kinda sad but it is delicious) when the phone rings! And it's my mother and I guess she must've gone and found a payphone or something, but I said "Hello?" and she just said "All right" and hung up and I was kind of weirded out and a bit upset by that! And then a bit later she knocks on the door and enters, throws - no, literally, she threw it - a pizza on the table (BECAUSE SHE'D SAID SHE'D BE BRINGING A PIZZA), drops a bag on the chair and a carton of ice cream on the table, and storms back out the door!

Aaand cue me freaking out because I'm so out of my head on sleep deprivation and pain meds and PAIN that I'm too stupid to remember why she'd be angry at me. I thought she'd left, so Grozoth ran out to stop her, only she was already gone, so I'm about to start crying because I'm really upset by whatever just happened, when she comes back in, drops half a cake on the table (we'd decided a while ago that we'd have cake for me after my trip to NY this weekend, but she made only half of one! And it is delicious green tea cake. OMG. SO GOOD) and goes to leave - for real, this time, and I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong, what'd I do, and being generally pathetic about it and finally start crying because I'm upset while Grozoth convinces her to stay. And we clear up why she was so angry and I feel like an ass and then we move the party out of the kitchen so I can sit with a bag of frozen peas SHUT UP IT'S TOTALLY AN ICE PACK on my ankle. And then we ate pizza and then we ate more cake, with ice cream. And everyone lived happily ever after!


HERE ARE THE CARDS I GOT! The cat one is hilarious because that's... pretty much what my cat looks like! Right down to the murderous glare! Here is the inside of that one. The other card is from mysticeden and has ECCO lurking inside. Scary!

I got some shiny things. I got... a watch! So I went from no watches to three in like two months. Hooray! Now if my watch dies again, I will definitely for sure have one that will tell me the time! Also, a copy of Revenge of the Fallen. The WalMart one, with the ten seconds of extra footage from the IMAX showings. I got THIS NECKLACE, which is actually shiny, from my mother.

Aniko gave me Quistis! Mom, when she saw it, remarked that looking at the figure just reinforced how well we did on my Quistis cosplay.

AND, since I didn't get him for Christmas and made sad faces all over the place, I knew I was getting him, but also Masterpiece Skywarp. And here is his face. And from the side. Aaaand from the top.


Also, I got beads at work, since they're all handing out beads for Mardi Gras. Technically it's for when you show awesome customer service skills, but I got beads anyway. (If you have beads, you can wear jeans. I'd been offered beads already, but turned them down. BUT WHATEVER. Beads.)


And mysticeden just commented on it somewhere else so whatever, here is a picture of my improvised pendant. I WAS TOO LAZY TO TAKE IT OFF FIRST.

WAIT NO IT DOESN'T. This isn't my usual procedure, which is why I'm posting it, but! I don't plan on leaving the stuff in this entry up for too long? Probably a week. So - I assume if you wanted either of them, you'd have done that already, but just in case. When I get back from New York (so, next Monday), I'm going to take them down.

You aren't old until you hit 25 then you are a quarter of a century old and this old by comparison <-- this makes sense! >_>

It sounds like the beginning of your day was pretty shitty... I bet the shaking, queasiness and all that is at least in part because of food. I saw that cause I've seen it before in people especially if the wait to long for breakfast. Then again it could be stress to. And so at your job beads=jeans? Id buy my own beads and wear them everyday 0_0

The whole things with your mom seems.. well I dont know what I should say. It reminds me of something my own mother did so of course I'm adding all that crap. I'm just glad that in the end if all worked out. And that Grozoth ran after her for you

BTW Grozoth? I instantly had one image come to mind... and if it really is that person I think I'd find if funny and creepy. Cause it wasnt even who is that? It was Grozoth=____ instantly moving on...

pizza presents cards!! yay! I'm really glad you got to do something fun on your bday :) The first cake does scare me a bit.. the picture makes me think its about ready to attack. The green tea one makes me burn with envy @_@ its looks so yummy and I'm hungry right now

Quistis still awesome and yeah your cosplay of her was super cool @_@ If for some reason you ever end up in a con here you better wear it :) I'm sure youd get a lot of compliments from the 10 rabid FFVIII fans (you know its true)

now back to studying! maybe...
