FIGHTING OCCURS. AGAIN.
So Shantotto is in the line up for Dissidia and it makes me ridiculously happy, just in case you didn’t notice, what with the excessive caps in the last entry.
I keep hitting [X] before we actually reach the doors. But now we are past the halls of Demon Walls (assuming there aren’t any more THERE HADN’T BETTER BE) and looking at a frightening maze of building. Waaaaaalls.
Oh, hey, not just a camera-pan cutscene! Vossler does not trust Balthier and Fran. GIVE THEM SHINIES. It is a good plan, Ashe. Also, that description of the Dawn Shard made it sound vaguely ominous. “It sleeps, in waiting …. I hear its call.” IT WANTS YOUR SOOOOULS or something I don’t know.
Here we have a little forest of Way Stones. Well, three. I bet this one goes to the one back by the entrance. (Yes! It does!) And the other two are not active. I have to find the other end before they will work. WE FIND THE MAP! Map. Map! I have an unhealthy obsession with maps. YOU MAY NOT GUESS WHICH OTHER GAME FUELED THIS. YOU PROBABLY KNOW. I WILL NOT TALK ABOUT IT FOR ONCE. (Map! ♥ )

RING. Balthier, that was kind of mean and kind of a bit hilarious at the same time. And we all leave Vaan wringing his hands and stammering. WELL, VAAN? Why can’t you just say it? Are you embarrassed? WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT, THEN, VAAN?
Anyway, though, town. I have a million errands to run, supplies to buy…. Probably none of it very interesting, so.
Now I am on a quest to find some windvane or something whatever, and mostly so far this has involved me running around town aimlessly, going outside in the middle of a sandstorm and continuously forgetting there is not way to turn of weather effects so please stop trying to summon the menu you’re playing the wrong game, and also the spiteful part of me that lives in Vana’diel thinking that while it is nice the high level monsters don’t aggro, it is also LAME. So I am also constantly reminding myself that death = game over, not home pointing with a minor experience loss (considering the last time you saved, this’d be more of a huge experience and time loss), and there is no Sneak, Deodorize, or Invisible.
Entertainingly, after my fiftieth or so rendition of that conversation with myself, we wandered into the Zertinan Caverns again (this place must be huge!) and nearly got our faces eaten off after we were aggro’d by level 38-or-so monsters. My inner citizen of Vana’diel has been appeased.
And we found the wind globe, got our windvane, and decided we didn’t want to go look right now because “wyrm” always means “boss battle” and I don’t feel like dealing with one right now.
My dance recital is tomorrow night. I am hoping I do not mess up too badly or die.

...I see that you already answered that!! Well, you can totally provide more details if you want. The glitchy music sounds kinda hilarious and horrible, but I'm really glad to hear the rest of it went well! I think yo should be really proud of yourself for seeing this through.
