I'm officially not returning to Maine in the fall. ...I still haven't told the one person who still attends that school that I won't be returning, but I only really finalized it today.
Now I have classes at the local community college where I'll be spending the fall semester, possibly the spring as well, while I look for a new college. I've got photo 1, drawing 1, spreadsheets, guitar 1, and mythology.
They're mostly slacker classes, but it'll be a nice change from last semester, and they all sound pretty fun, so I don't really care. Besides, I haven't taken any art classes in the last two years and I really miss them.
Massive thunderstorms passing through the area. My dog is afraid of loud noises. Whenever there is a thunderstorm (or a parade or when the guardsmen are practicing up at the range or, well, most anything), he runs into the downstairs bathroom with his tail between his legs and crawls behind the bathtub. I've no idea how he manages this, as he is a lab and so is not exactly a small dog.
The storms that have passed so far today have all gone directly over the house, so it's been very loud. My poor dog shakes and hides. I feel very bad for him, because it's not like any of us can do anything to help him calm down at all.
In the storm that just finished passing, one of the bolts of lightning seems to have struck the barn. It fried the invisible fence. This seems to be becoming a trend, but at least the generator didn't explode this time.
Last night, I had a dream that I hadn't done my Latin homework and was going to get in trouble, so I was trying to finish it before class started. I was translating very well until I needed to put "this" into Latin. Then I realized I couldn't remember any of the rules for "hic haec hoc." The strange thing is, when I woke up (and ran through "hic haec hoc" in my head a few times) and thought about it, I'd actually gotten it all right, which is pretty good, considering I haven't taken Latin for going on three years now. ...I really miss it.
...Why are my email alerts not working properly? It keeps telling me I have unread messages and I don't.
