These explanations are all amazing. I am having difficulty imagining how a bird could have turned into Tidus! And the Littlest Geezard: so cute. And, yes, the fact that a Cactuar is able to get onto the airship is a bit terrifying.

(Oh, that Cactuar sidequest. I couldn't bring myself to kill the little Cactuars. I just kept getting the YOU'RE A LOSER sphere or whatever it was called.)
